I was lucky enough to stash several of these away to see how they age. I absolutely love how they did this. Not overly sweet and you can easily taste the different styles of apples that they used. Light hint of brown sugar aroma giving way to a pleasant, fresh-pressed apple cider aroma. Light ale base helps to balance the various flavours. Outstanding for this style of fruit beer. One of my favourite of the unplugged series. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a clear reddish amber under a small fizzy off-white head that faded quickly to a thin film. Aroma is a mix of a Brown Ale and apple cider. Slightly sweet caramel malt with a touch of chocolate malt. The apple is crisp and natural smelling. Flavor is more apple juice than beer, quite sweet with a nice crispness on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation,. slightly sticky mid swallow. A little cloying on the finish especially towards the end of the bottle. Overall, I liked this but I could see where some may not because of the sweetness. These guys know what to do with fruit! radiomgb (1974), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank> beerhugger, thanks Steve. Copper in colour, thin off-white head, small amounts of visible carbonation. The aroma is dominated by apples, quite sweet with some honey. The flavour was of macintosh apples, lots of apple skins, caramel. Wonderfully sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes very sweet but not cloying. Very interesting stuff. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Aroma is juicy wet apples. Very ciderish. Cloudy brown in color with a slowly diminishing tan head. Fore is crisp and sweet with tongue tingling apple flavors. Again very cider-like, but with a maltier base than any cider. Not much else going on. My wife thought she tasted some honey, but I don’t get that. It’s basic and delicious. Fruity aroma with apples (duh), nutmeg, actually caramel covered apples and some honey. Aroma is wonderful as the brew warms and the head disippates. Color is a dark caramel orange. Sweet and fruity. Thick palate with loads of apple cider. This is delicious! An alcoholic apple cider that has so much more flavor than your typical crappy apple cider. Sweet with a hint of spices. Finish is creamy and coating with a lingering sweet finish. Finally ends with a hint of tartness. Damn good stuff! malachi (62), Seattle, Washington, USA

Sweet to sour apple aroma as the body warms. Very, very sweet and thin body. Much juicier than beer with a honey-like body. No significant finish, but a nice, thin coating is left on the throat. Shared with malaci. A golden carbonated head protected scents of cherries, apples and very very subtle hops. Tastes like sweet apple juice that has been fermented with cherries. Very drinkable and smooth - it doesn’t really taste like beer at all. Finishes dry and smooth with a mild aftertaste. Not bad; I wish I could have had this fresh. emptytankard (36), Illinois, USA

The brown ale base used for this beer must be very very mild. None the less a refreshing and tasty brew.
