Commercial Description:
Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

Apple, cinamon, nutmeg in the aroma. Flavor is sweet, with apples, honey, and vanilla.

I...ehh....well,.....emmmm. Yeah. My notes for this are very clear and very succinct. "Apple juice." If this truly has a beer base then kudos to New Glarus. Much as I like them, this tasted like fruit juice and not beer to me.

12 ounce bottle from BBB63. It pour with a violent fizzy head the completely disapated. Pretty clear copper. It looks like cider. Aroma is all apples. I guess that mean is smells like cider. Very crisp. Sweet. Appley. Cidery. If it looks like cider, smells like cider, and tastes like cider, it must be cider. This looks, smells, and tastes great, FOR A CIDER!!!

Been waiting a very long time to try this one. My next door neighbor brought me some back from Wisconsin. Dark Apple Cider looking beverage. Tons of apple and sweet caramel flavoring. You can actually taste the raw apple flavor in this beer!!! Fantastic freaking beer. There’s nothing wrong with an excellent Fruit Beer, this is the best I’ve had. Another can’t miss product from New Glarus. Those who don’t enjoy this style are really missing out. Nice sweet apple finish. Is exactly what it says it is.

Nice color & aroma. Like fresh apple cider. Problem is, that’s all it taste like: apple cider. Nothing new or different about this. And it’s too light on the alcohol content. Nothing special, +plus+ it’s expensive. Pass.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with CaptainCougar, thanks Tom!) This is like drinking orchard-bought apple cider that’s just started to turn. The nose is dominated by apple, and the spiciness smells like mulled apple cider. Very strong and obvious sweet apple flavor dominates this beer, and it tastes like real apples, not some fake apple flavoring, and shows a bit of spiciness to it. It’s intensely sweet, but it’s apple sweet, not sugary sweet. I’m not getting a whole lot of malt in the flavor, just some modest breadiness I think, but I know it’s there because this doesn’t taste like pure apple cider. No bitterness whatsoever in this beer, which is quite appropriate. It’s very tangy, nicely carbonated and refreshing on the palate. Medium bodied, and nicely carbonated, though the sweetness adds a bit of stickiness. Slightly hazy and amber in color, but no carbonation bubbles rise through the beer. The fizzy, off-white head settles to a wide ring, leaving no lacing behind. This has been a real treat, and except for a slight hint of "beer", it’s like drinking spiced apple cider. Very delicious.
