Just finished this.Not all to far off from a cider but clear and very sweet.Great apple flavor and my nieghbor loved it.It has a nice quality of apple flavor not like some frozen juice.

Nice copper pour witha thin head. Aroma is more of a lager yeast with a small apple smell. Flavor comes off as with a simple apple and malt marriage. Really not on par with NG’s other fruit beers, but still a quality beer. This would go great with pork chops.

Very very interesting! A big thanks to jerc for sharing this, and his other New Glarus treats. Dark brown pour, bubbly thin head. Really nice apple / alcohol (even at this low %!) - sweet aroma - very inviting. Taste is distinct apple and malt - this tastes like a solid brown ale with apples added and blended in perfectly, not an artificial fruit type of beer. Interesting lingering apple bitterness. Certainly some full bodied cider characteristics as well. jerc mentioned this tastes like fall and I agree. A nice treat.

Smeels and tastes exactly like apple cider, and not the alcolholic type. I really enjoyed drinking this, but i was dissappointed that it tasted just like a juice with no hint of beeriness(is that a word?) Nice to drink, but a little more obvious bite is needed

Bottle courtesy of JPDIPSO. Dark amber ale with a small white head. Sweet apples in the aroma smell of dark cider and a pie. Flavour is sweet with reminders of mulled cider and lingering apples. I was quite pleased with myself, having correctly identified the Macintosh, but then I also thought I detected some red delicous of which there is no mention on the bottle. Smooth medium palate. (3+) Very nice, this would be well suited to a fall picnic or Thanksgiving. Many thanks!

Popped the cap, it made noise with conviction. I poured this into my flute, the body looks flat an lifeless even though it had a huge fizzy white head. Now it has a thin white head and excellent heavy lacing. The body is copper in color. The nose is apple pie filling that smells like it’s been in the tin can a bit too long. Kinda like a McDonald’s apple pie that got all cold and is over a couple weeks old. Kinda musty, old barn wood. I’m really not into this aroma. Perhaps that’s the Cortland apples? I’m not familiar with them. The flavor is apples, light cinnamon, weird spicy cider. (I have fresh cider in the fridge that doesn’t taste like this. It’s much better). Light pie crust. Perhaps I’m desiring too much of this beer? I guess growing up on a farm with fresh everything kind of taints you to desire cider more than something pretending to be it. 3.8%? I’m just going to stop ragging on NG for this one. They normally make really good stuff. The flavor is quality, just not for me. 5, 4, 7, 3, 13 = 3.2

Rerate of a bottle acquired from John. The beer pours to a deep rusty orange colored body with a frothy cider-like off-white head. The aroma is apple cider, soapy hops, caramelized yellow apple skins, light cinnamon. The flavor is quite sweet. Yellow and red apple flesh, a dash of green apple skin, a touch of cinnamon. Can hardly tell this is beer. Only a hint of malt is detected well after the finish. The palate is sugary sweet and makes the mouth water. Medium-full bodied and really creamy. Much, much better than I recall.

Sadly, my wife seems to have thrown the notes I took on this on away. So I will go from memory. As I recall it poured a hazy copper-onion skin color with minimal head. The aroma I recall sprang to mind walking into an apple barn in the fall. Musty fruit, wood, etc. The flavor was 100% apple. Sure there were some other flavors in there, but all focused on enhancing the apple (like cinnamon spice). Generally crisp and refreshing but with out a doubt, apple. Really, the fact that this was a brown ale base was surprising, as I never would have even guessed this was beer. Some strange hybrid between cider, apple juice and ?? At any rate, I did find this enjoyable (though a bit sweet for me) and am glad I picked up a bottle. Bonus points for originality.

Pours lightly hazy orange/apple juice. Nose of much tinned pie filling, apple, cellar and spiced cider. Not much acidity. Too sweet. Some cinnamon and nutmeg, brown sugar and traces of yeast funk. A little disappointing.
