Thanks to MrFacto who sent me this and to TheBeerCellar2 for another one!
This has a large creamy head of off-white that rides on a pectin hazed copper brew. Light malt and apple aroma.
Well balanced brew that starts with sweet caramel malt on the tongue and then changes over to a fruity apple tartness. Like the combination you get with a caramel dipped apple.
The palate is full and creamy yet light and lively as well. A different and enjoyable brew. Alcoholist (570), Peoria, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2005 Apple aroma and cidery in the flavour. Not a cider yet very appely for a beer. New Glarus never ceases to amaze me. Drew (2409), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2005 I thought this tasted just like the apple pies that they sell at McDonalds - it’s only missing the crust! Strong apple-cinnamon-brown sugar aroma. It’s a pretty good looking brew - looks like a brown bubbly, slightly hazy apple juice. Taste is full and sweet, not as "sharp" as a cider - smooth bodied. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Light copper. Noisily-dwindling ring of foam. Peculiar aroma of plastic, pressed apples, yarn, toasty malts, and dirty/buttery yeast. Seltzery effervescence. Heavily airy. Sharp and stinging with prevalent yeast notes casting phenolic and bubblegum esters on the palate. Dab of caramel offsets the quickly vanishing fresh apple tartness. Virtually nonexistent center shows mushy, overripe apples and a putrid yeast character, which prevalently flaws the brew. Cloying, increasingly sharp finish shows a jumbled mess of overripe apple acidity and leafy dryness. Whether or not this is trying to be a fashionable fruit beer or a true cider, it fails miserably at both. Please re-retire this, New Glarus, or at least replace this foul yeast with something interesting or "wild" next time. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2005 a murky brown color w/ a thin white head and lots of carb bubbles on the glass head dissapates quickly. scent of spiced apple pie and sweet kiddie apple juice, a very sweet aroma. THe palate is clean medium bodied, but nothing amazinly special. Flavor was a sweet apple and cinnamon taste.. but not over the top sweet as I expected. Overall a good fruity beer. lilannie (383), State College, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Dark amber color. Large white foamy head. Aroma is apple juice, cinnamon and brown sugar. Medium bodied fruit beer. Malts are very sweet. Lots of caramel and brown sugar. Loads of apple flavors tart, crisp and sweet. Very sweet, yet not cloying. Despite all the apple flavors here, there are distinct beer flavors here as well. Sort of brown ale like. Interesting beer. As with every New Glarus beer I’ve tasted they are all well-balanced and very smooth tasting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet. Thanks be to edward (brooklynboy) for sharing this beer with me. The nose is fruity with some hints of skin. The taste is wow apple juice. No alcohol detected (doesnt suprise me after seeing the % on the site) but it is really really drinkable. Would be great with some ice cream. OMG this stuff is great!
