Commercial Description:
Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

12oz bottle. 44.5°. NB Worthy globe. Pours hazy amber/red with a small of white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of apple juice, seems tart. Taste is apple cider that is mildly tart, but balanced with a malt base. The taste is more complex than just apple cider. The apple cider aspect is the initial flavor and it lingers for a while, which is nice because it is tasty, then comes a "soft" ending where the beer cuts the acidity of the apple cider flavor and balances the flavor. The mouthfeel is "full." I’m not sure how to rate this. The aroma, flavor, mouth feel, and aftertaste are amazing and can’t imagine how an apple beer could be any better. I would just have a problem giving it a 20/20 because I am comparing it, possibally unfairly, to every beer that I have had, not just every apple ale. (this has been my first apple ale)

Aroma of apple cider. Lots of carbonation while poured into the glass, but quickly settles. Lots of wheat in the taste as well as a lambic like yeast quality. Apples of course. Very sweet. Very thick, definitely for sipping. Complexity seems to increase as it warms. Delicious.

Wow. This stuff was awesome. Thanks, Phil, for providing it. Pours a nice amber with no significant head. Looks like a cider. The aroma is a wonderful green apple scent, though Granny Smiths are not used in the mixture. Nice smooth feel on the palate. Minimal carbonation. The flavor was a sweet but not cloying apple cider taste. This was very refreshing and delicious. Would probably make a nice beer to use in cooking something that lends itself to an apple flavor, like pork chops. My concern is that this beer might not stand the test of time. My first tastes of O’Fallon Cherry Chocolate Ale and Weyerbacher Raspberry Imperial Stout left quite an impression but the more I drank of them the less they impressed. It was likely the initial novelty of the flavors that impressed. This might be like that. Fortunately, the inaccessibility of New Glarus and especially this particular brew makes that a moot point. If, however, you can get your hands on this limited brew, do so. Delicious.

Last beer of the night, plenty of apple in the aroma, whoa is that sweet and tart, plenty of apple alright, this might be a good after cutting the lawn refreshment, but not a sit in the local bar brew

This brew pours with an orange’amber body topped by a thick off-white head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet full of sour apple notes. Smells a lot like sparkling cider. The flavor is sweet and full of apple. Is this a beer or a cider...I don’t even notice any beer characteristics. Light bodied, crisp and smooth.

Murky brown amber with a minimal light tan head. Huge raw apple aroma. The flavor is massively appley in fact it totally dominates. Medium sweet, lightly sour. Dry sweet cider finsih. This is so close to a raw unpasterurized apple cider (non alcoholic) that it is amazing. I like apples, I like New Glarus, I love beer, but this one just does nto work for me. They just need to turn it into a killer hard cider. The beer charecteristics just detract.

Dusty copper. Nose very apple-esque (big surprise and all), sweet and malty. Flavor tastes like unflitered apple cider, very little beery quality at all. Reminded me of the wassaiil mom used to make around Christmas every year.

Thanks Facto! This one rocked as well. Tasted a lot like cider, but with a hint of wheat. I like fruit beer so that was okay with me. it is very sweet but i like it sweet. full flavored apple with hint of cinnamon. I could get used to drinking this.
