Aroma is that of mulled apple cider that has been carbonated. Flavor of a mildly spice-dusted caramel apple-wow. This was hard not to drink it one debaucherous gulp. Somewhat unidimensional, but unbelievable all the same. This is what I call a good date beer. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2004 Thanks to Facto. Poured a light clear copper with a small fizzy white disappearing head. Big aroma of apples. Taste is all apple with a hint of cinnamon. Like a liquid apple pie. Surprisingly, a lot sweeter than I expected. Too sweet, actually, for me. Still very good. Refreshing, light, and not too sweet, this one-dimensional brew is great for the fall. Thanks MrFacto! 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Bottle pours a slightly hazy apple juice (imagine that), with a sudsy white head that quickly falls, spotty lacing, with light carbonation.   Clean apple nose, much like fresh cider.   WOW!   I was expecting a pilsner like taste with very minor apple hints, but this is nothing like that at all.   I’d say this is more of a cider than a beer.   Very clean apple taste, soft, sweet but not cloying.   Long, lingering apple finish.   Enjoyable body and mouthfeel.   New Glarus certainly knows how to make fruit beers, and this is no exception.   Simply wonderful!   Thanks goes out to MrFacto for the trade!

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Bottle, shared with my brother. Wonderful mulled apple cider aroma. Reminds me of an autumn hayride. Clear copper color with virtually no head. This is beautiful. Reminds me of a nice cider, sweet to start, lending to some tartness and finishing mildly sweet. It is no wonder that this is rated so well. DYCSoccer17 (2191), Davis, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Bottle. Aroma is a gently spiced cinnamon aroma with an apple aroma. Smells like macIntosh apples from my town’s MacIntosh orchard (Chazy Orchards). Sort of smells like warm cider. Very comforting aroma. Mostly transparent copperish color with a small whitish head. Start is sweet apples turning carbonated and quite tart. There is lingering sweet notes throughout. There is a mild caramel maltiness that comes through in the finish. This is a gem. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2004 Bottle - thanks to Badgerben. Pours rich clear orangey amber color with a small off-white head that diminished to a ring of bubbles around the rim. Unique and delicious aroma, smells like apple crisp dessert, sweet apples, honey and brown sugar. Tastes like a sweet and spicey hard cider, but mellow rather than sharp and biting. Light to medium body and pleasant carbonation. Quite a treat, thanks Ben! 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
