A nice apple flavor that tastes like beer. Creamy body that borders on foamy but is not. A very unusual beer that I found appealing. mistersinalin (377), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

This is a crispy treat, not for sipping. The quenchibility (sp?) may only be surpassed by the wonderful balance of sweet and tart. Fruit beers are so hard to make this well. juiceisloose (671), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Courtesy fantomas23. Pours a dark orange amber color with a small, bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Some sudsy wash is left behind on the glass. The aroma is nice and filled with fresh sweet apples and apple juice. Sweet red apples and it’s juice dominates the flavor with some candy sugar sweetness, and a hint of tartness on the backend. Medium bodied with subtle carbonation that is very easy to drink. Pretty close to the feel of a cider. The finish is clean and crisp with the apple sweetness lingering. Very nice fruit beer and good use of the apples. Dan Carey is the master of fruit beers. undsioux7 (555), Cologne, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2009 Pours light copper with a small light head. Looks and smells like apple juice. Taste is a subtle apple cider with a nice light malt background. Very good. sleestak (186), Williamston, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 11, 2009 12 oz Unplugged bottle. Copper pour with only a thin white ring at the edge of the glass. Aroma is tons of the sweetest, crispest apples imaginable. Taste is very cidery at first, followed by a lovely malt finish. Some caramel pushes the autumnal majesty even more. Mouthfeel much closer to cider than beer; incredibly drinkable. I prefer this to the Raspberry Tart, but nothing can touch the Belgian Red. DrHomolka (728), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Looks like apple juice. Smells like apple juice. It actually smells better and more like apples than apple juice. Nice, juicy and sweet. Apple core, fresh, some vanilla. Very cidery. This doesn’t have the holy-shit-awesomeness that the raspberry and cherry beers do but it is still very good. Taste is sweet apples upfront that quickly fades to a surprisngly dry finish. Not very beery in general. Very drinkable. Not as good as some of this company’s other fruit beers but definitely one of the better in the style and more justification that NG brews the best fruit beers bar none. vyvvy (2043), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Pours golden / amber with a white head. The aroma has lots of crisp apple-like a cider, but heftier traits to the aroma than a cider ever does. It has very green apple notes with a hint of malt to fill things out - delicious. Medium / full body with a bit of nice semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with full rich crispness with some maltiness to keep this from being a full blown cider taste. The malt makes this seems more like an apple than a cider. It is clear, refreshing and delicious. The finish continues with everything great with the beer / cider combo taste. Great beer and highly enjoyable. after4ever (2736), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2009 Liquid Sunshine V. 12-oz., capped and foiled. Thanks, Kosko! Crystal clear medium amber. Virtually headless and laceless. Nice forward red apple and apple flower nose. Creamy medium body with firm carb. Big apple juice mid-palate. Mild doughy malts under that. Neutral finish. The way these guys get such beautiful flavors up front in their special ingredient beers is just a constant marvel--wheat, fruit, whatever. This is another great example.
