aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA Dec 29, 2008 Tasted thanks to Ken, and a bottle thanks to Daknole. Pours a hazy ornage/red in color with a decent but quickly diminishing head. Aromas fresh sweet juicy cherries, and some yeast. Flavor was nothing short of amazing, Tart, slightly sour, yet sweet cherries. I only had a couple ounces for my first taste and I savored every drop. Thanks to Daknole I know have a bottle of my own to savor at another time. CANDY! 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 23, 2008 Updated: Dec 25, 2008Pours a unclear murky dusty burnt faded red with a thick creamy light red froth on top, looks delicious. Aroma of very juicy cherries, similar to black cherries, simple yet fresh and enticing. First taste is acidic followed immediately by tart and ever so juicy sour cherries, this stuff is sooo tasty Im trying to gulp it. It really tastes like a cherry capri sun and the yeast adds that pie crust like effect. Long acidic finish. The body is excellent and very appropriate, not sticky nor syrupy, just enough consistency, more of a blend between soda and juice. ooo haha this might be one of the only beers Ill ever drink cold. GMCC2181 (845), Bear, Delaware, USA Dec 23, 2008 Big bottle from josh. Murkey red in color with a pink tint. Decent head. Aroma of sweet and tart cherries. Wow, taste just like cherry pie. Not overly sweet though. Nice body to it, not to much or little carbonation. Great dessert beer. Thanks again josh for an awesome beer! RSRIZZO (1340), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 14, 2008 Aroma is a bright tart cherry scent. Color is a deep red with mellow carbonation and a thin pink head. It starts with a lighter medium body that goes down smooth. Finish is like drinking a cherry turnover, it has a bold fresh cherry taste with a sweet pastry and yeast like flavor. After taste follows this leaving you feeling like you just had some cheery pie. This is an amazing brew, its a true dessert beer. HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours with a almost rose like color like a rose champagne. Very little foam. Great aromas of cherry fruit. The flavors are spectacular, with really tart cherries, a bit of lemon, some woodsiness and some great effervescence. Even a bit of malt comes through, but very faint. Very nice on the palate and very refreshing.
No real sourness which is a plus for me.
Exceeded all expectations, cannot wait to try the Raspberry tart. bethmatt0421 (317), Covington, Kentucky, USA Dec 13, 2008 What an amazing surprise this beer is. Tarty, cherries all the way through the aroma and flavor. Its like liquid cheesecake. Thanks Dave! KYackley (32), , Minnesota, USA Dec 10, 2008 Holy fucking cherries! Wow, tart, sour, and yummy. Good stuff here. If beer was a candy this would be it. No head, lively carbonation brings a refreshing taste. Bottle says a marriage of beer and wine. Yes, I agree. Great beer. blipp (1630), Newark, New Jersey, USA Dec 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours murky red brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma of tart cherries, cider, and light oak impressions. Nice cherry flavor, a touch of tartness provides a perfect balance to the light sweetness. Low hoppy bitterness rounds it out nicely. Extremely drinkable. I expected this to be way to sweet for my tastes, but I was happily mistaken. Very good.
