Wow, now this is a fruit beer. The aroma kicks ass. I’ve never smelled that type of completely pure fruity aroma from a beer. It’s all cherries from the minute you open the bottle. It really smells more like a jar of fresh cherries than a beer. The flavor is excellent. I love the balance of the sweet fruity cherry flavors followed by a moderately tart finish. Not as tart as the Raspberry Tart, but just enough make this a really interesting and enjoyable beer. It barely even tastes like beer honestly. Definitely unique and intriguing. I’m really glad I got to try this one. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Sep 19, 2009 Bottle from Tim. Thanks. Hazy brownish red with a slight fizzy white head. Huge cherry aroma with some vanilla and caramel notes. Taste is cherry, cherry, and more cherry with slightly vanilla and oak finish. It’s an interesting beer; I think my wife liked it more than I did. Todeon (314), Sweden Sep 19, 2009 Received this as a bonus, huge thans goes out to Beachbum1975! Pours a winered color with a frothy white head. Looks inviting as hell! Aroma, one word: Cherrypie! but there is some malt, sugar and marzipan in there aswell. And of course pure cherry. Taste is filled with cherries/cherrypie along with some almost overwhelming sweet notes. Some malt, spices, marzipan and cinnamon can be felt. Some acidity but not much. Really a great dessertbeer! playitbybeer (48), San Diego, California, USA Sep 18, 2009 Pours a strawberry/ maraschino cherry red with a frothy white head with some awesome champagne like bubbles. Smells like bubbalicious gum, cherry syrup, and cake batter. Tastes like a cherry slurpee and heaven. I love this beer. Thanks to Dasilky1 for sharing this bottle and to arjoseph for introducing me to it. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Sep 15, 2009 [9/5/08] Bottle sample during LCRBM at Kulminator in Antwerp. Dark murky red-brown. Aroma of sweet cherries, sugar and some marzipan notes. Sweet cherries flavor with oak, some malt, caramel, other dark fruits notes and some candies. Medium to full body. Silky. kappldav123 (1790), Markkleeberg, Germany Sep 10, 2009 LCRBM 2009. The bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass is red-brown, modest turbid, small head. Chewing-gum aroma. Starts very sweet and fruity like melon. Finish modest sourish-bitter, still very fruity. Very sweet aftertaste. Unusual, but good! alagnak (296), Littleton, Colorado, USA Sep 8, 2009 Having poured this @ GABF (and thusly drank mass quantities in 1oz intervals) - was excited to sit and sip on a whole bottle. Really outstanding nose of ripe red cherries, mascarpone cheese and a breadiness that really ties it together nicely. Flavor is initially a blast of cherry pie, mellowed by the wheaty/bready yeasts and a wood/earth background that is just superbly integrated. As it warms, the sweetness intensifies a bit and overtakes the ’beer’ element more, but this is a wonderful brew. Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Sep 8, 2009 @ LCRBM 2009. A hazy orange/amber colored beer, with a beige little pink head. The aroma is very fruity. A lot of cherries cold morellen (Dutch). Very sweet with hints of sour. The taste is sweet, a lot of cherries, it’s stickey. In the back notes of sour. The aftertaste is very sweet.
