Beer 11 of the Bartzilla’s Death Metal Beer Tasting 1/12/2007, consumed with many great beer drinkers including Bartzilla, Naven, as well as Lee Chase.
This is some fantastic beer, it is stellar beyond belief. I happily shared this with many other enthusiats and they all agreed, this tastes really great, and some said it could replace the mimosa for brunch. Hell I think its so good I could drink it every single day. Whether it is beery enough for you or not is up to you, but damn this is some amazing brewing. Poured a slightly cloudy dark brown-red with a thin foamy head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is remarkable - smells like freshly smashed cherries are in the bottle, some tartness present in aroma as well. Taste is dominated by dark sweet cherry flavor, but a tartness is there as well, and it all balances out brilliantly. rayg1 (432), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Jan 4, 2007 Shared with ross, thanks alot. This stuff poured out a a bright red with little carbonation. Aroma is heavy on cherries and smells wonderful. Taste is again wonderful cherries with a nice tartness. I told ross this stuff tasted like cherry juice. I liked it alot and would def taste again. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jan 4, 2007 Aquired through trade with brewblackhole. The color was a amber. The head was fizzy and a pale pink. The cherry flavor was very prominant. There was spice, citris, and sour hints. The palate was very smooth and thin. The finish was sour. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jan 4, 2007 Updated: Mar 4, 2008Trade with brewblackhole. Pours an amber red with a thin creamy light pink head. the aroma is very sweet/tart cherry, with some spice notes and hints of vanilla. The flavor is very tart/sweet cherry. Tastes just like a cherry pie. The palate is crisp and carbonated. The finish is tart. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 4, 2007 They must know something about Cherries in Wisconsin. This was my first Fruite Beer, and it was fantastic. Thnaks to Rudge and Piscator for the fellowship. luiss (89), Elmsford, New York, USA Jan 2, 2007 Big 2002 Bottle- I waited a while to try this beer since it was more than 25oz i didnt think i could finish it on my own, and of course once again i was wrong. I shared this beer with my loved ones on X-mas. They enjoyed it even though they had no clue what it was. This beer poured out great and the carbonation did not lack(2002). Poured out valentine red or another example is raddish red. The head is thick and white as white. not much lacing but that didnt matter this time. The taste is of dried fruit not only cherries but a bit a apricots, and some swedish fished all combined, the finish is a bit dry and sweet more similar to flavored maple syrup. Qslugs (2), USA does not count Dec 28, 2006 I really like this beer and I dont even really like sweet things. Its by far the best fruit beer out there. The only strange thing I noticed about this one is that it dosen’t seem very strong. Perhaps it’s just that one will not normally sit down and have a few bottles of this.
