Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Bottle from Secret Santa(July). Murky apple cider brown with no head. This is one of the most unique beers I’ve ever had....and they pull it off fantastically. Tastes like apple cider with lots of cherries. Sharp cherry taste is awesome. Couldn’t drink tons of this, but it would be a perfect after dinner drink with a slice of chocolate cake. Yum yum yum. Also tried this at GABF and didn’t get anywhere near the taste I got from a full glass out of my own bottle.

This beer pushes the envelope for fruit beers right to the edge. Pours cloudy red with red-ish head. The aroma is nice but not as potent as the first taste which is a stunner. Tart cherries right up front and center. Mellows a bit and finishes strong. Had this for breakfast one morning after a baseball weekend in Milwaukee. Nice way to start the day(even though a bit decadent).

The strange thing about this "beer" is that I don’t like it, yet I rated it high. Its very complex in cherries and is quite good for a kriek lambic, but the problem is that it’s a kriek lambic. The only stlyes of beers that I hate are Lambics, fruit, and the dreaded scotch ale; too sweeeet. I recommend this beer, however, if you prefer sweet over bitter.

Bottle thanks to buckybeer. Pours a cloudy orange/red, with a little off-pink head. Aroma is all cherries. Medium body with heavy sweet/acidic from the tart cherries. Amazing. You sense the malt in the background more that you taste it. It definitely made me re-think fruit beer. Not because I’m not a fan, but because I didn’t realize how far you could take it.

Bottle from Footbalm. This stuff really smells like cherry pie, and the taste is pure cherry deliciousness. This beer borders upon being a wine, and at times, I felt as though I was enjoying a wine cooler. But, it’s so much more than that -- there is lots of oak flavors that complement the amazing cherry flavors. This is good good stuff.

Bottle My wife and I enjoyed this via Adverse2Bitter in champagne flutes. A lovely red brown color that is not clear. The aroma is carbonated cherries. Wow - delightful. The taste is even better. If all fruit beers could taste this perfect, I might like them more. The strong cherry flavor is finished with a decent amount of tartness. The body is thick and full and has about average carbonation. Yummy!!!
