Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

&50 2008 vintage (1 year old). Great fruitty cherry profile on the nose. A bit of a muddy red pour (even when yeast was settled). Sweet with just a slight bit of tartness -- a bit bitter due to the hops. A bit out of balanced with the bittersweatness. The hops are n attempt to rebound the sweetness. Just a bit too sweet. MEdium body with perfect carbonation. Overall: too sweet to take down a whole 750, glad I shared this one. I can;t imagine drinking more than 6 ounces of this as a dessert beer. If you want to know a summary of this beer: your kid couldn’t tell the difference between this and his/her juice box.

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. It had a dark red cherry color w/ very little head. Aroma was of cinnamon, black cherry, and grenadine. Flavor was tart with black cherry, grenadine, and cinnamon. Not a fan of this beer!

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours a hazy/cloudy dark red, no real head. Aroma is GREAT, full of cherry and malt, some acidic. Flavor of cherry, malty, tasted just like a liquefied Mrs. Bairds cherry pie. Mouthfeel is smooth, medium body with crisp carbonation. Overall, GREAT SHIT!!

Bottle with thanks to dalzale. Pour is a deep brown that is almost red, but not quite. Head is a thin layer of tiny bubbles that are as pink as they are tan. Aromas are heavily cherries... at times they come across as sweet, at times they seem tart, but they are undeniable and I can’t pick out much else. Flavor is similar, the cherry presence is almost like pie filling in that it is simultaneously sweet and tart. This is very good stuff, but it is pretty unidimensional.

Appearance: Pours a dull dark red with a pin stripe of bubbles. Aroma: Cherry pie filling, including some cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Taste: Sweet and sour cherries, brown sugar, cloves and spices. Mouthfeel: Is perfect a mouthfeel descriptor? Overall: Mind blowing.
