Commercial Description:
Expect this beer to pour the deapest black body topped by an opulent head of lip smacking foam. Roasted chocolate and toasted caramel notes brim over the top. Lavish spice aromas of clove and cinnamon are promoted naturally by the yeast we import especially for this most individual of brews.

Personal preference here.. I don’t like weizens that much. I love the roasted barley and the chocolate, but then the nasty clove banana hits. Fantastic nose. Sort of dry. I wish I liked weizens, because I can tell this is obviously a beer of the highest quality. Just not to taste.

Thanks to Ughsmash for this trade. Almost as good a dark wheat beer as Aventinus - and that’s no faint praise!

Bottle via trade. Darkest brown in color with a one-finger tan head. Roasty, smoky, chocolaty aroma. Flavor is porter-like roast combined with wheat and spices, finishing with lingering chocolate. Palate medium and fairly smooth. Another winner from New Glarus.

Wheat, oats, rye, barley; bottle-conditioned. Motor oil black w/ huge, rich tan, effervescent head. Smokey aroma, dark chocolate, deep roasted malts. Presence of wheat also detectable in nose. Clove and cinnamon alongside breadiness and faint esters. Reminiscent of fresh, dark roasted coffee beans. Tastes as it smells but with a dynamic stout flavor of rich chocolate, caramel, and coffee. Thirst-quenching, contemplative, curious, complex. Finishes slightly dry w/ lingering roast character and faint taste of wheat. Their best beer.

Bottle thanks to Ughsmash! Pour is dark dark brown with fairly large tan head. Aroma is coffee, wheat, chocolate, and dark malt. Flavor is espresso, cigar ash, roasted wheat?, campfire, and hints of chocolate. Definitely has a distinct burned/ashy flavor that is not displeasing. Creates a lot of complexity. Interesting and delicious stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours super brown with a scraggy white head. Effervescence carries with it a stellar aroma of roast, spice and cocoa. Taste has coffee and cocoa with a cinnamon finish. Nice and bubbly with a light-to-medium body. Among NG’s best beers and another example of their mastery of wheat beers.

Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is nutty chocolate roasted malt, banana wheat. Flavoir is lemony banana wheat and rye tones with a slightly burnt bitterness, nutty tones as well. Some light wood smoke and clove spice in the finish.
