Commercial Description:
Expect this beer to pour the deapest black body topped by an opulent head of lip smacking foam. Roasted chocolate and toasted caramel notes brim over the top. Lavish spice aromas of clove and cinnamon are promoted naturally by the yeast we import especially for this most individual of brews.

Pours slightly murky brown with a tall creamy tan head that has excellent retention. Aroma is wheat, banana bread, lots of sweet toasted grains, some dark fruit and rich crusty bread. Flavor is banana bread, toast, caramel, homemade wheat bread, hints of smoke, and hot cocoa to finish. Palate is medium bodied with a chewy feel and just the right amount of carbonation. By far the best dunkel I have ever had.

Shared by Bockyhorsey @ Hellbilly’s Holiday Tasting...THANKS BILL!!! Chestnut brown bordering black pour with splashes of lacing on the inside of the glass. Aroma of burnt popcorn, wheat and banana. Flavor exhibits cocoa, wheat and smoke...with a medium mouthfeel. Another solid offering by NG.

12oz bottle from Corby112 - thanks, Craig! Man, another pleasant surprise from NG in a style category that usually leaves me indifferent. Handsome pour, very dark brown like a dubbel with some lively carbonation. Sweet malty nose with some molasses and bready notes in there promising an earthy pleasure. Mild spice of clove and cardomom make this far more than a malt forward beer. In fact (and this is going to sound weird) there’s some dried leaves and smoke in the finish. I love it, so idiosyncratic. Delightful and I hope to have this again.

Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Dark brown-black color, thin broken off-white head. Slight grainy aroma, hint of tasted malts. Sweeter overall taste, almost a chalky texture, not overly wheaty in nature, but subtle.

12 oz, thanks cmubeerman via sersdf. Dark brownish amber color. Malty the way a dunkel should be. dark fruit, musty and slightly earthy. bubbly, light chocolaty sweetness. definitely good for the style.

Bottle. I will agree best dunkel-weizen I’ve had. Pours a near black body with a tan head. Loads of smoked malt, liquid smoke, peat and some refined berry character in the background. Chewy and full bodied even at under 6%. Very nice brew, well crafted to style.

Bottles from WI that the wife bought to have at tasting & another for myself. Aroma is root beer, spicy cinnamon and some roasted wheat. Black body with good tan head with lacing. Flavor is roasted wheat grain, some spice and carbonation in the mix. Has a roasted wheat grain aftertaste with a mild sweetness, an intriging beer. Another great one from NG!!
