Commercial Description:
Expect this beer to pour the deapest black body topped by an opulent head of lip smacking foam. Roasted chocolate and toasted caramel notes brim over the top. Lavish spice aromas of clove and cinnamon are promoted naturally by the yeast we import especially for this most individual of brews.

Bottle: The aroma consists of banana, clove, chocolate, and roasted malt. It pours a cloudy brown with some faint orange highlights and a moderate beige head with good retention. The flavor starts with light banana and quickly turns to a moderate roasty finish with a hint of chocolate. There’s a definite wheat tanginess throughout. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle courtesy of a request fulfilled by my girlfriend’s brother’s wife from their trip from Minneapolis to Chicago.. Hot damn! Pours a rich opaque dark brown pour, big light tannish head, bubbly, that sticks around well and fairly big, with good lacing. Aromas are some faint toastiness being complimented with strong banana and clove presence. Touch of creaminess and maybe chocolate and vanilla. Exciting! Initial is a good sessionable body, pushing some light darker malts with banana and clove, fruitiness, sweetness, and a touch of creaminess. Vanilla and faint chocolate come into the body, with light sweetness that still is quite sessionable. Finishes with minimal bitterness, roast and fruity banana work well but isn’t overbearing like some representatives of the style. Pretty great! Cheers!

12oz bottle 4/10/09 (Discount Liquor-Milwaukee)-Pours a dark brown with a nice full tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, banana, and clove. Taste begins with roasted malt, chocolate then goes into some banana and finishes with more malt, chocolate, and spices. This medium to full bodied brew is darn tasty and throws a little wrench into the style of Dunkelweizen. Great job.

12oz bottle, thanks to Kan! pours black with big foamy tan head. nose of chocolate, clove, doughy malts, toffee, and yeast. flavors sweet doughy and chocolate malts, cloves and banana, chocolately finish. med body. full mouth feel. perhaps this would work better as a fall beer but this is probably the best dunkelweizen i’ve ever had.

Crushed with Jakebra. Most delicous dunkelweizen...ever. Roasty wheat and chocolate on the nose, with some spices in there as well. Definitely something else. Flavor lacks the chocolate but is still as delicious. Said it once, will say it again, New Glarus makes the best wheat beers in the world.

Bottle thanks to noncaloric. This poured a lovely dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma was of some wheat, chocolate, maybe a little smoke and maybe some spices and banana flavor. Flavor was very nice also with similar notes but the palate is very thin on this. Pretty solid dark wheat.

Bottle thanks to Kan. Dark, almost opaque black with large, long lasting, creamy beige color, lacing and slowly recedes to rocky head. Aroma is slightly smokey, like tobacco smoke, roast, spices. Wheat flavor is first and most prominent flavor with chocolate, dark fruit, some banana, yeast, sweeter. Medium to full body with creaminess. Nice, just really nice.

Bottle pours black with a 2 inch head. The aroma is yeasty, chocolate, roasted, and cinnamon. The flavor is spicy, chocolate, and yeasty. The palate is substantial, yet still refreshing. Overall, this is another outstanding NG Weizen.
