| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 16, 2005 Hazy brown beer. No head. Maize taste. Finish is sweet and slightly bitter. Hard to tell it’s a wheat beer. An average beer. Ungstrup (15343), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2005 An unclear brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is sweet wheat combined with notes of roasted bread. The flavor is also sweet wheaty, but also with notes of malt, and caramel, as well as a roasted end. A good wheat beer. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2005 Pours with a dark brown body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a very slight alcohol note, some yeast and a very slight roastiness. Medium bodied yet crisp and smooth. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Pours almost completely black with a big, 2 finger thick, merangue-like head. Aromas are carmel, wheat, bananas, and coffee. Flavors are carmel, coffee, cloves, bananas, and yeast. I don’t believe that coffee is a common trait of a German Dunkel, but as an Impy Stout lover, it works for me. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 12, 2005 I really don’t get how this beer can be the highest rated dunkelweizen on the site?! I’m not a wheat beer fan, but this beer has nothing that the ordinary german dunkelweizen don’t have!! Pours muddy colored with a fluffy brown head. Yeast and wheat aroma with hints of anise and coffee. Wheat and banana in the flavor with smokey hints. Pretty odd and not a beer for me.
As said, way overrated imo. madsberg (5045), Søborg, Denmark

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 7, 2005 Bottled. Muddy brown coloured. Yeasty and spicy aroma with notes of banana. Roasty flavour with notes of fruits, yeast and spices. Not as heavy and cloying as most German dark wheat beers. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 5, 2005 pour is a dark dark brown, creamy tan colored head, body is not quite opaque, but its pretty close. aroma is sweet, you can tell this is a weizen as soon as you smell it. spices and coffee make up the rest of the nose. flavor is solid caramel, coffee and spices, backed by the wheat sweetness, and tailing off into a bit of chocolate. body is not too heavy for a beer this dark, as it goes down pretty easily, mouthfeel is rich, but not quite chewey. any way i look at it, this is an excellent brew.
