Spicy nose with moderate maltiness....hefe like. Flavor is even more pronounced with spice--clovey, banana-like. Caramel roasted malts are there too. A wee too thin for me, but I liked the dry roasty finish. Nice ale. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 29, 2005 not solid black, but very dark with a tan hued head. smells like a snickers bar. that’s a new one for me, but it is apt, just like a damn snickers bar, weird. wow, taste is a nice caramel sweetness with some strawberry jam hiding behind it. roasted finish that is like the smell of a smoker that has sat out for a few days since it’s last use. lingering peppery spice keeps my tongue awake. i’m really enjoying this and i havcen’t gotten half way through this one. banana notes are coming out in this now in both the flavor and aroma. chaocolate flavors emerge. so much flavor hidden in this one. a truly remarkable beer. best beer i’ve had in a while. i will get more next winter. thanks for supplying this one bbb63, i am in your debt even more. Pours dark black and has a nice thick head that fades. Smells of yeast, clove, and banana dominate here. Also, there is a roasted grain with a smoky and light chocolate aroma as well. The taste...this beer is throwing a ton of stuff out here. Tastes of clove, banana, and cinnamon. There is a roasted note of malt and smoke after the swallow that is apparent after it warms up. Very interesting but tasty beer! FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA

Mouthfeel is smooth yet full. jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA

Murky brown with a long standing tan head. Rich bready, chocolatey, clovey aroma. Not very assertive. Bitter chocolate wheat flavors. Very drying. Med/Full bodied. Not a fan of wheat beers, but alway up for something new. Thanks a millions hezron.
