Aroma has fleeting glances of banana and clove but is largely consumed with heavily roasted malt (practically to a level of smokiness). Flavor continues to be heavily roasted, charcoal at times, smoldering charcoal in fact, with balancing wheat sweetness and always huge nutty notes. Though I don’t know the style intimately, I would imagine this is a bit over-roasted to fit snugly within it, it’s still a wonderful beer. LilBeerDoctor (1525), East Setauket, New York, USA
