Commercial Description:
Expect this beer to pour the deapest black body topped by an opulent head of lip smacking foam. Roasted chocolate and toasted caramel notes brim over the top. Lavish spice aromas of clove and cinnamon are promoted naturally by the yeast we import especially for this most individual of brews.

Poured from bottle almost black with a little off white head to it. Has a smell of chocolate and caramel. Has a nice thick chocolate and malty taste to it. Very well done

A complex espresso-like aroma with thick, even malty notes. Overall flavor has depth and complexity, but with a full fruity flavor reminiscent of pineapple, mango, and melon. Surprisingly light and fruity for such a strong nose! Could do very nicely with a beef bourgogne or washed rind cheese.

[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is a nice mix of banana, cloves, anise notes, rye, and an unidentifiable sweetness. Taste is somewhat sweet and very faintly clove and banana again up front, before the rye quickly comes forward and then dominates into the finish. Medium-thin mouthfeel, smooth, and has a very long finish. Overall a very unique beer that marries the two flavor profiles (sweet banana/clove, and rye) in a very interesting and enjoyable way. Well done.

Had on tap at a restaurant in Madison. This is a strange cat. The flavor up front is roasty but then it shifts into typical hefe flavors. A very interesting must-try.

Pours with a big head, dark brown in color. Aroma is chocolate, caramel and cinnamon. The beer is medium bodied. Taste of spice and chocolate. The wheat taste is noticeable. This is a well put together brew that is very easy to drink.

12oz bottle. Pours black with a foamy tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, caramel, malt, spice, nuts, and clove. Smells very inviting and delicious. Taste is of chocolate, wheat, spice, and nuts. Has a base a caramel malt. Each sip finishes with a strong nutty character and a decent amount of clove. Lingering taste of chocolate and spice. The ber is medium bodied and the mouthfeel is creamy and very carbonated. The flavors is this beer blend well, and even compliment each other. Very well-balanced. It’s real easy to put down, almost too easy. Liked it a lot.

Thanks to Secret Santa for this one! I had been wanting to try this again for years, the last time I had it was long before my Ratebeer days if I’m remembering correctly. Pours black, slight light tan head. Aroma is faintly roasty, a touch of smoke, and a bit of clove that reminds you that this is in fact a weizen at heart. Flavor has a definite wheat component with a faint bit of coffee, much less roast than the nose indicated. Yeast phenols were quite restrained, just a bit of clove to keep things interesting. Enjoyable, I sort of wish it had been pushed further though.
