| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Bottle. Pour was dark with a medium tan head. Aroma was light coffee and sweet malt. Body was very thin and watery. Had more medium coffee flavor with a light burnt finish. Decent brew but not deserving of the high rating. Needs a much bigger body and more complexity. Pours dark, dark chocolate with hints of mahogany around the edges. The head is creamy and beige and hangs around as a cap for the duration leaving great lacing.
The smells are mostly dark roasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee.
The taste follows the aroma pretty closely with dark malts underpinning the coffee taste that leaves a bitterness in the finish.
The mouthfeel is velvety smooth with very good carbonation.
This is a great coffee stout and extremely drinkable as the coffee is not overpowering. Tasty. IPAaLLtHEwAY (137), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2009 this rating may be scued since i just went a month without a single beer and this is my first since that. The aroma is heavenly after such a sober duration, titilating the senses with roasted malt and coffee. As soon as it reaches the palate one can tell that it is perfectly balanced with roasted malts and hops. This beer offers a medium body and lite mouthfeel. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Updated: Apr 5, 2009Bottle. Very strong coffee aromas and flavor. Pours almost black with a nice full head like you would expect from a stout. The mouth feel was much thinner than I was expecting for a stout, but it’s still a great coffee stout. dutch23mp (170), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009Black pour, large frothy tan head with good retention and lace. Aroma of aromatic coffee elements and roasted malts, distinct chocolate elements. Flavor is coffee and roast malts, neither terribly complex, coffee bitterness takes over. Fine, but difficult to savor. Effervescent in the mouth, but distinctly thin bodied, especially for a stout. HonkeyBra (1373), Lemont, Illinois, USA
