Commercial Description:
Hearty and satisfying, our Coffee Stout is the ultimate full-bodied brew. Wisconsin water, roasted malts, and imported hops are the natural ingredients we use to brew this bier. Then cold pressed organic coffee from Just Coffee Co-op is infused into the brew. Expect this bier to pour a deep creamy head over an ebony rich body. Notice the powerful malt bouquet balanced by a spectrum of extravagant flavor. Served at room temperature this Wisconsin Coffee Stout is guaranteed to warm even the coldest heart.

Thin head of small bubbles which dissipates quickly. Chocolate and coffee aroma with some hazelnuts and vanilla. I am not a fan of coffee but this smells pretty damn good. Color is a very dark brown. Thinner body than expected. Lots of coffee in the flavor but what is amazing is the length the coffee flavor has. Coffee linger for a very long time and is quite nasally. Kind of strange. More cocoa and smoke flavors too. Light sweetness. Finishes roasty and dry with lingering coffee long after the swallow. If you like coffee, you should love this beer.

12oz bottle. Pours darkest brown with a big tan head. Aroma of roasty coffee and chocolate. Huge coffee flavor balanced by a touch of creamy sweetness and dark fruit. Medium-bodied, so not as robust as a Founder’s B-Fast or even Bell’s Java, but still very well put together.

Pours a brown color opaque color with a small off white head. Nose is creamy, coffee, light roasted malt and chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin but not watery and touch silky. Initial taste of coffee, light roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is simplistic but enjoyable. Mid palate to finish sour lactic like hershey chocolate and creamy coffee. Palate duration is average, head retention is above average. Light bodied. Interesting.

12oz from MrBendo - thanks, Todd! Absolutely splendid aroma. Not just rich coffee, but specifically I got a dry cappucinno, which is a delight. Dark brown pour appears somewhat thin, with a minimal head. It turns out that this is the case. Shame, too, since the flavor is so robust. The palate does it no favors and makes what could have been an exceptional coffee stout and merely good one.

12oz, bottle, dont really understand the heartiness of this, its really thin and watery with your basic stout taste, not even sweet to me, when compared with a FBS or Peche Mortel.

12 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a dark brown color with medium sized creamy ecru head that leaves some nice lace. The aroma has nice roasted malt, dark chocolate, soft coffee, and vanilla cream. The flavor again has a nice amount of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee with cream, all leading to a finish that is dry with a good amount of bitterness. Body is medium to med/full and smooth drinking. New Glarus rarely disappoints.
