The good ones are really good, but it is hard to find differences sometimes. Pour is near black with a small beige head. Aroma is cold coffee and roasted malt. Flavor is of weak coffee and slight bitterness. A bit thin. eaglefan538 (2368), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Bottle courtesy Bockyhorsey. Pour was a primarily flat brown-black, not much else going on initially or after a few minuts. The aroma was coffee, light roast. The flavor was coffee and light roasted malt notes underneath, but not much complexity. For being a straight "coffee" sout, this wasn’t rich or impressive enough to warrant any raves, yet it wasn’t foul, nasty, off, or stale to catch any ire. Mouhtfeel was only moderate, not thick, not thin. Appearance was unimpressive, otherwise, a decent average coffee stout. Thanks, Bill and Wendy! kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 20, 2007 12oz via trade. (Thanks tomdecapolis!) THis pours a near black w a beige head. Nose is mocha, honey, vanilla, coffee. THe taste is just like the nose with a nice americano finish. Some subtle noble hops as well. Also a bit of subtle spiciness..very subtle...Body is light/medium. Carbonation is just right. This is a very good sessionable coffee stout. I hate beer for breakfast but this could almost make me reconsider! bboeckl (135), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 18, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of burnt carmel. Taste is of coffee, oats, sugar, cream. Hey, who needs breakfast? A tad bit thinner body than some of the high gravity stouts makes this beer more paletable. I would buy this again. 37steel (186), St. Charles, Illinois, USA
