| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2007 Out of a bottle, I let this one sit 15 minutes before doing anything (as stouts should be IMO). Aroma at first pour didn’t give me much exept a slight sweet coffee smell. Later the flavors started to come through more, much of the same just more pronounced. I am not a huge fan of a coffee stout, but this was good (not great) Very strong coffee flavor throughout. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 Deep brown body with magenta hues, an unexpected and appreciated contrast. A thin, dark tan head quickly recedes to a mere ring at the fringe of the vessel. Aroma begins with quality, roasty coffee notes with light expressions of hazelnut and caramel. Adequate malt character, roasty and sweet. The coffee in the nose is indeed lovely. Chocolate notes proliferate as the beer warms. The mouthfeel seems initially watery, but becomes filling, balanced and seems amply full eventually. Light coffee, medium-light bitterness and medium sweetness. Alcohol is pleasantly unnoticeable. Medium-high carbonation nearly ruins what is otherwise a great breakfast beer. Overly quaffable. Finishes with roasty bitterness, lean but quite long. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Pours a deep crimson with a tiny, thin egshell white head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Fairly thin and wispy. Coffee and caramel are the dominant flavors, with vanilla beans coming in next. Sort of a nice quaffer. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2007 (Bottle) Pours black with just a little bit of head. Coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma. Taste is balanced between coffee beans, vanilla, and nutty syrup. Prickly mouthfeel, with more carbonation than I would expect from a stout. Pretty good, but could have been better. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Looks fairly light bodied. Big, heavy coffee smell, really fresh smelling. Very roasty as well. Taste is mostly coffee, but contains a good dose of chocolate and dark malts as well. Roasted nuts and a little caramel in the aftertaste round out the flavors. A little bit light bodied but still pretty good. masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Poured dark brown with a tan head. Nice roasty coffe aroma, taste was the same with some nuttiness and a clean finish. Not bad, nothing fantastic either. Fairly straight forward.
