Commercial Description:
Hearty and satisfying, our Coffee Stout is the ultimate full-bodied brew. Wisconsin water, roasted malts, and imported hops are the natural ingredients we use to brew this bier. Then cold pressed organic coffee from Just Coffee Co-op is infused into the brew. Expect this bier to pour a deep creamy head over an ebony rich body. Notice the powerful malt bouquet balanced by a spectrum of extravagant flavor. Served at room temperature this Wisconsin Coffee Stout is guaranteed to warm even the coldest heart.

Thanks to someone at IBU. Very smooth burnt toast. Carbonation (slightly high) and body (slightly thin?) are decent, nothing special. Not that much coffee, and what is there is like black patent. Or maybe that’s just black patent.

Creamy and delicious. Very smooth on the front side with chocolately notes flowing into coffee flavors ending in some very mild hops and strong malt flavor. New Glarus is my hero.

Pours dark brown with fairly large lighter brown highlights and a 3-4 finger cream dust tan head that has excellent retention. Aroma is roast, mild chocolate notes, fresh roasted coffee beans and some toasty notes. Flavor is mild chocolate, chocolate covered coffee beans, dark caramel and sweet roast. I am amazed in reading the description that this stuff has no actual coffee in it. Palate is light to medium body and velvety, medium carbonation. Awesome stuff, there are better stouts out there but this definitely deserves a try. Update: It does have coffee in it, the description is either completely wrong here or they changed their recipe at some point.

The final beer of my last New Glarus haul. I need to get back up north again soon. Pours a good deep dark chocolate color with a good creamy big head with lots of lace. The aroma is chocolate with some smoky coffee notes and a light mildly floral character. The flavor is a deep bitter mocha coffee like flavor with a roasty almost burnt tone and a mild dark chocolate, well bittered with earthy hops.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Three Cellars (Franklin, WI). Getting close to the end of my NG haul from February.. must be time to go get more soon. Pours a very dark hue, blackish brown, ruby around the edges with big cakey chocolate milk bubbly head that laces pretty well, sticks around at a moderate amount. Aromas are a little sweet, creamy, with light chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt bitterness being smoothed over by some of the creaminess. Initial incorporates an nteresting sweetness up front of cream, chocolate, vanilla that is smooth, moving into a build up of roasted malts and coffee and some bitter chocolate. Decent body, but nothing overbearing, a reason why I like some sweet stouts as sessioners. Especially when they offer good balance and smooth over the roast instead of emphasizing a sweet sugary element. Creamy vanilla dances into roast further into the body, chocolate and coffee, light bitterness. Pleasant, enjoyable, sessionable. Cheers

bottle from trade with General Gao, Sweet aroma, coffee, little hazelnut, blackish brown color, good head that faded quick, no lace. Bitter sweet flavor, not as much coffee, more like a straight forward sweet stout, medium body, creamy mouthfeel, smooth sweet finish, Good, but I had high hopes with this and the flavor was not what aroma let me on with. had a stale streak about it,

Not a big fan of the stout coffee flavor. It was not too bad but was not one of the better New Glarus beers

Bottle. Pours a brune black body with an off white head. Roasted malt, coffee grinds, some creamy stale coffee. Thin with a coffee grind finish. Not the best roast, but i am quite happy that this is not lactose and sweet milk. Light licorice. Decent brew.
