| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Pours deep, rich brown with a frothy tan head. Wonderful lacing throughout. I normally don’t care or notice that, but it was obvious with this beer. Aroma is a rich bouquet of coffee, charcoal, and roasted, nutty malts. This feels oh so smooth and creamy on the mouth, full-bodied and sexy. The carbonation is a little distracting, but still feels great swishing it around the mouth. Flavor is what I’d expect, but is wonderfully balanced coffee, chocolate, lactose, and nice roast flavors. The coffee finishes nice and bitter, but not with a coffee ground flavor--it tastes like actual coffee rather than the bean. I needed this beer, as the three coffee stouts I tried before it were really disappointing. hillfiiiiire (286), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Dark fuzzy looking body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma’s a little sweet with vanilla and a little bit of coffee. Flavor is solid enough. It definitely tastes like a coffee porter I brewed a few months ago. All in all a good beer though. shawnm213 (995), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Bottle. RIch black pour, nice medium carbonation and a mellow vanilla/coffee aroma. Flavor was fresh roasted coffee, a lot of smoke, tobacco, vanilla and cream and finished slightly bitter. Very good! danielcurtis81 (910), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Bottle via bonus from pepperford. Pours a deep dark black brown with a big dirty white head. Nice is toasted malt, some slight coffee. Good brewed coffee flavors with a slight chocolate hint. Nice malt backing. Mouth is medium with a slightly dry finish. This is a nice session style stout. Lots of good flavor without the heavy alcohol. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Coffee and roasted malt aromas. Dark, dark brown with a rich and bubbly head. Flavors of coffee are immediately evident, some light chocolate, a bit of caramel, some malt. Pretty good flavor and decently balanced. Very easy to drink. Palate is fairly light with a shorter duration. One of the few coffee beers that I can say I could drink more than one of. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Received in a trade as a bonus and cant remember who it was. So whoever, thanks! Immediately, this beer reminded me of a creamy-er version of a homebrew java stout i recently made. Very smooth coffee flavor, nice creamy flavor all the way through. Pretty much a coffee with a couple creamer’s in it, and a little bit of alcohol. Really nicely done, love that it drinks easy, my glass was gone before i knew it. Great. changeup45 (800), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2009 Bottle courtesy of pfoxyjohn. This pours a very dark brown color into my New Glarus glass (also from pfoxyjohn!) with a thick initial tan head. Nice lacing. The aroma is mostly coffee and some roasty notes. The flavor is pretty much on par with the aroma, dominant flavor is coffee, obviously no surprise, with some roasted malt and mild bitterness. The flavor seems stronger upfront than in the finish which is mellow. Solid brew.
