Commercial Description:
Hearty and satisfying, our Coffee Stout is the ultimate full-bodied brew. Wisconsin water, roasted malts, and imported hops are the natural ingredients we use to brew this bier. Then cold pressed organic coffee from Just Coffee Co-op is infused into the brew. Expect this bier to pour a deep creamy head over an ebony rich body. Notice the powerful malt bouquet balanced by a spectrum of extravagant flavor. Served at room temperature this Wisconsin Coffee Stout is guaranteed to warm even the coldest heart.

A pitch black beer with a small disappearing light brown head. The aroma is of roasted malt and coffee, and so is the flavor, before it ends on a dry note from the roasted malt. Surprisingly thin body.

Near black; coffeeish yes, but not overly roasty. Hops and malts are understated, which detracts from the overall presentation of the beer. Still likeable, mind you, but timid.

(Bottle 6/24 @brewery): Cola body with nice brown head. Aroma is straight-on coffee, moderately sweet, some caramel. Taste is solid coffee, medium sweet, with malty coffee bitterness at the back. Medium full body. Delicious. (draft 6/23 @Bodega's in La Crosse, WI): Some beige head with dark brown body. Aroma is faint coffee, mild sweet, roasty. Taste is light sweet and coffee, with a nice coffee aftertaste significantly sweeter than the rest of the beer. Nice medium body, lightly carbonated. (5/4/7/4/14)

Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom! It’s black with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and light rubber. The flavor is slightly sweet with notes of roasted malt, coffee and the finish is slightly citrussy/roasted bitter. It’s not very complex, but considering the ABV, it’s quite full-bodied with a lot of flavor.

Bottle. A almost black beer with a hint of red, and a beige head. The aroma and taste is light roasted, dusty and of coffee. Medium body with a dry finish.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a dark brown with a small sized tan head. My 1st impression when smelling this one was a cup of Hot Chocolate. Lots of cocoa with vanilla, caramel, vanilla, light roast and light coffee. Tastes of roast, chocolate, caramel, and a trace of coffee. If I would have tasted this blind, I would have pegged this as a Chocolate Stout. Is it a good beer, yes. Is this a good Coffee Stout, no (with coffee in the name, I expect something damn near a cup of coffee!).
