Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 8, 2007 Pours black with a quarter inch tan head. Aroma is definitely dominated by coffee. Flavor is quite unspectacular. It tastes like a glass of cold black coffee. Lots of chalky bitterness and taste. watery. nice soft carbonation. i’ll let it warm up. not helping. one of the few new glarus beers i dont love or even like.
Alldaydrinker (473), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours a brown color opaque color with a small off white head. Nose is creamy, coffee, light roasted malt and chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin but not watery and touch silky. Initial taste of coffee, light roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is simplistic but enjoyable. Mid palate to finish sour lactic like hershey chocolate and creamy coffee. Palate duration is average, head retention is above average. Light bodied. Interesting. jjpm74 (3400), Connecticut, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate. Tastes of coffee and some bitter hints. Overdone. JCB (1119), Durham, USA Oct 6, 2008 12oz from MrBendo - thanks, Todd! Absolutely splendid aroma. Not just rich coffee, but specifically I got a dry cappucinno, which is a delight. Dark brown pour appears somewhat thin, with a minimal head. It turns out that this is the case. Shame, too, since the flavor is so robust. The palate does it no favors and makes what could have been an exceptional coffee stout and merely good one. jmikolich (377), Athens, Ohio, USA Sep 13, 2008 12oz, bottle, dont really understand the heartiness of this, its really thin and watery with your basic stout taste, not even sweet to me, when compared with a FBS or Peche Mortel.
Jmichael (589), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Sep 8, 2008 pours a solid dark brown. sweet aroma with some fruity accents in the background. mild front to back with smooth palate, mild coffee mocha finish. relatively mild coffe stout but good.
