Commercial Description:
Copper Kettle Weiss is designed in the traditional style of a dark wheat beer. Rich malt flavors are accentuated through our complicated decoction mash and finally balanced with select Hallertau hops.

12 oz bottle via trade with the Epeeist. Pours a cloudy golden honey, caramel color with a medium white head. Aroma of lemony wheat with slight basement mold. Taste is lemony with hints of caramel, light malts, sourdough bread, and fresh yeast. Finishes off a tad peppery, which isn’t bad. Very good. Thanks Chris.

Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a monstrous yellowish head that has huge bubbles, but disipates quickly. The aroma is sweet, fruity, and lightly malted. The flavor is slightly sour and breadlike. Yeasty fruits and honey abound. The mouthfeel is relatively light with more carbonation than I anticipated. Relatively refreshing and overall, a much better representation of the style than I have previously experienced.

Thick orange pour with big off-white head. Fruit of all kind on the nose, almost like a banana bread. Flavor is yeasty and fruity. Body is medium with alot going on.

Bottle from JCapriotti. Thanks! Pours rich, deep, and dark with amber tones and blonde highlights. Nice creamy-white head that leaves intricate patterns of lacing. Aroma is malted bubblegum with hints of banana. Flavor is weekened banana with subdued clove. Watery mouthfeel. Overall, it’s not offensive-- it stays par for the course. It simply does not differentiate itself from the pack.

Bottle via GrbDg, thanks Cliff! Pours cloudy orangeish-amber color with a decent sized beige colored head. Aroma is sweet bread, banana, clove. Flavor is wheat, clove, banana, yeast, sweet malt. Palate is medium bodied, moderately crbonated, sweet, spicy finish. Very good!

Sampled on 9/30/06: Pours a cloudy orange amber with a large, frothy cream-colored head. Has a rich, sweet, authentic bready German yeastiness and good banana clove balance. Body starts sweet and wheaty with a nice spicy clove and fruity banana balance. Good authenticity, full-body and enjoyable. Too bad it doesn’t age well. Best enjoyed fresh.

Another of the bevy of beauties proffered by iowaherkeye as part of Mystery Swap 2.0. This one pours turbid medium copper with 3-finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, big banana, clove, citrus, slight hops. Tastes caramel malty, with a lot of banana flavor, plus clove, citrus, some hops. Well balanced, smooth, and complex for this style.

Beautiful coppery pour, with trails of cloudy yeast, and a big rocky head. The nose is tart citrus, grass, banana, clove, and caramel malts. The flavors are an amalgam of yeasty spiciness, grass, banana, clove and caramel malt. the mouthfeel is very spritzy (probably overly-carbonated for my taste and style). Pretty respectable version...and I’d expect no less from this great brewer.
