Hazy amber colour. Almost very German Style aroma with soil, spicy cloves plus a touch of almond paste. Big aroma here for this "American Dunkelweizen". Pretty big flavour profile(considered US Dunkelweizen again) with an alco touch and almond paste. Big Co2. Very fruity. Finishes short.

Shady apricot color, small white head. Belgian ale and smoke scent, also spice (clove perhaps) and acidic. Some wheat beer estery banana with yeast smell as well. Taste starts as a Belgian strong ale, finishes dry and with smoke. Spritzy mouthfeel and low bitterness. After a while also aceton in the scent. Marsiblursi (1653), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2007 Golden amber color out of the bottle with a big rocky off-white head. Nose of puffed wheat cereal with dark brown sugar on it. Rich sweet flavor with lots of brown sugar, burnt toffee, dark bread, puffed wheat, some banana and cinnamon. There is a sour twinge in the finish. It does have the soft mouthfeel of a wheat beer, but seems a little thin for the style. Easy drinking, full flavored beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2007 12 Oz Bottle. Light warm bread dough and sweet pear phenolics aroma. Banana skins, esters-a-plenty, and cold grape juice. A fuming pour, almost gushing. With raging champagne bubbles in a golden-amber elixir. Five fingers of creamy, rocky lacing sticky banana-tinted ivory. A refreshing, rich beer with copious nuanced malts and heavily light toasted pepitas. A surprisingly awakening and complex flavor profile, with a multitude of pale fruit touches and creamy sweet malt. Banana rules. Light grain husks round out and a faint crisp tinge of lemon hops bite into the aftertaste. Excellent body, with a full mouthfeel, yet drinkable and quenching. Edging Belgian, but boldly German. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Pours a dark cloudy orangis-brown. The nose is quite strong and shows off that it is a hefe. Strong notes of banana, bready esters, as well as a pronounced sweetness like dark fruit, and caramel. The flavor is a wonderful explosion of bready earthiness and sweet malt. Great creamy mouthfeel follows to a clean and lasting finish. Not as good as Aventinus, but damn good. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a hazy dark amber color with a very large head. Slight fruity aroma. Great palate for a hefeweizen, comparable to some of the better German examples. Balanced caramel and wheat notes leave a crisp and dry aftertaste. A pretty good brew overall. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Bottle from 1FastSTi. cloudy orange/apricot color with nice fluffy tan head. The aroma was of clove, banana, wheat, and yeast. The taste was the same. Very smooth and refreshing. Nice texture on the palate. You know, as I drank this beer I felt strange sense of calmness engulf me, soothing in fact. Maybe I was just tired to begin with, but this a very good beer.
