Commercial Description:
Copper Kettle Weiss is designed in the traditional style of a dark wheat beer. Rich malt flavors are accentuated through our complicated decoction mash and finally balanced with select Hallertau hops.

Pours a clouded orange color; deep orange at the core and a more dilute orange along the edges. Frothy head of light almond dissipates into a thin bubbly layer quite promptly. Aromas give an ample dose of banana, clove, and yeast with an accompanying scent of crisp Hallertau hops. Flavors tingle as it washes over the tongue; banana and yeast. Smooth wheatiness interjected with a fizzy tickle. A muddled character to this in the end; it seems it doesn’t know which way it wants to go. Tasty, yet disjointed.

Pour was a medium bodied brown/orange color with foamy white head. Aroma is somewhat fruity with some banana, orange and clove in the mix. The flavor had pretty much the same characteristics with a little sourdough.

Light caramel malt aroma. Honey orange with a huge off white head that just sits there. Hey, how am I to get to the brew? Carbonation is non stop in the glass. Medium caramel flavor with a dry ending. Slight sour aftertaste. This is a refreshing brew. Not as frothy as its appearance would suggest. Don’t know where the fruity sourness comes from, but I like it.

An aroma of corrianda and bannanas. A huge golden pour with a slightly off white head . A fruity flavor of bnannas and clove. A slight twang at the end and maltiness. A slightly thin palate and too fizzy for me. An overall decent beer for the style just not my favorite style

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this with me! Poured a cloudy orange color with a head that was mainly off-white but had some yellow highlights in it. Some lacing was left in the glass. The aroma was of wheat, clove, citrus and a hint of a malt background. The flavor followed much of the same with citrus, clove, and wheat but also some banana. Light body and a comfortable sweetness throughout. Another great New Glarus offering. Thanks Stevo!

Bottle from Ryan. Man, what a beer. Pours out a orange color, very cloudy, thick head which disappears into nothing in a hurry. Smell is sweet, almost minty, malts, lemons, and some roasted character. Taste is smooth and highly carbonated, easy drinking, some sweetness and fruitiness fill the glass. Very good, actually, really good. I wish I had more than just one bottle of this, Ryan - grab me a sixer! Great stuff.

When my dad handed me the bottle he warned me that it was likely to cause a large mess when I opened it. Thankfully no beer was wasted, but tawny head stood on top of this thing for ages before I finally could empty the bottle into my glass. Color is a delicious straw orange and the smell is one of the sharpest hop aromas I’ve ever encountered. The flavor is nicely balanced, a bit of caramel, some citrusy notes. The overall feel of the beer was a bit water though and the flavor dulled as it was sipped. Plus, yeah, too much carbonation. As far as wheat beers go, this is probably my favorite, as far as beer as a whole goes, this could be done a bit more carefully.

Spicy aroma, golden hued, light body. Holy cow, too much carbonation! The flavor is pretty good though, but the fizziness ruins this one for me.
