Aroma is a mix of dunkelweizen and Flemish sour. Surprisingly sour on the nose with even a touch of oak barrels smell. Unexpected. Fruity taste with bananas and a few drops of pomegranate flavour. Some cloves and zesty spices. Medium Tartness and a little sourness. Nice original dunkel. Pleasant and easy to drink. How easy to drink? All I had to do was to pour it in my mouth and swallow. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Pours lighter cloudy amber with light off-white head. Citrus hop aroma with a bit of yeastiness. Very similar to a Blue Moon imo. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Impressions from the YeHa! party:
-Ample foam dwindles into the cloudy beige-orange.
-Crunchy wheat provide some tartness, and the prevalent yeastiness sometimes evokes leafy, vegetal notes.
-Discreet banana esters are overcome by the muddled phenols.
-The lean body and energetic effervescence provide a very drinkable experience.
-If the aroma were more engaging, and the flavor profile a little cleaner, I would have enjoyed it a lot more, but as is I can only say I had a decent dunkelweizen, nothing more.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. Smell bananas with citrus and some metallic aftertaste. Not the best beer by New Glarus but still better than the macros out there. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2006 Although I’m a huge fan of Weiss-styled beers, I did not care for this brew. It had a metallic, bitter after taste. If you like this style of beer, may I suggest trying Ayinger’s Ur-weiss instead. New Glarus used to make a fantastic weiss beer called Solstice Weiss (probably one of my favorites). Too bad that beer has now been retired.
