Commercial Description:
Copper Kettle Weiss is designed in the traditional style of a dark wheat beer. Rich malt flavors are accentuated through our complicated decoction mash and finally balanced with select Hallertau hops.

I accidently poured the gunk in so it’s amber honey with a bit of dark sludge floating. The head throws itself high into the air filling my tall pillsener glass. Aromas of sweet and sour sauce. Full nectar with mild yet ample carbonation. Rich and malty with sweet aged citrus, medicine, tropicals like kiwi, wood, and nectarines. The finish is long with lingering sweetness and a bit of acidity.

12oz bottle. Light copper color. Sweet aroma of bananas. Flavor is light and airy (like an angel food cake). Straight up, balanced. No major characteristics. Just an easy drinker.

On tap and 12 oz. bottle. Beautiful copper color. Head is smaller and light tan. Aroma has wheat, banana and hop. Slight metallic note (from the copper vessels) Flavor is includes spicy notes (clove?), wheat and carmel malt character. But also a toasted finish. Has very unique character all it’s own. NGB, please bring this back in 08.

Pours slightly hazy copper color with slightly off white head. Aroma is banana, clove, wheat, and some grassy hops. Flavor is wheat, clove, and a mild bitter grassy hop finish.

12oz from trade a ways back. 3rd New glarus 12oz of the night. Shared with my gf Cyn. Pours dark orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is sweet and nice well rounded. Taste is very nice, sweet, with notes of honey, and other nice flavors. Very good brew for a domestic interpretation of the style, and a style that I don’t see all that often in the US.

[Bottle, thanks go to Brewfiend for sharing this, I believe] Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is smoky malt, some banana and vanilla. Taste is roughly the same. Medium mouthfeel. A solid beer, but compared to some of NG’s wheat beers this wasn’t my favorite.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, orange-golden body, with a dense, white head. Strange nose, but I like it, with umami and sea-salt. Sweet, pale-malty flavor with a little sour touch and wheat. Medium body, quite effervescent. Sweet, umami finish. Nice, strange and complex. (080118)
