Banana and pepper...Pours cloudy yellowish amber with the requisite enormous off white head in my Paulaner weizen glass. Aroma of strong banana and a bit of clove. Mouthfeel medium-full, quite smooth (bordering on silky). Lots of rather sloppy lacing. Flavor is mostly banana with overtones of pepper and clove. A nice beer and pretty much dead-on for style. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Flanagan’s in Appleton, WI. Pours a semi-clear orangish-caramel brew with a rocky creamy off-white head that has good retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel multi-grain malt, some flowery hops, yeast and a touch of banana. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with fruity malt, some citrus, banana, and a touch of yeast. Finish is smooth, semi-sweet with a doughy/banana aftertaste. A pretty decent bottled dunkelweizen. emptytankard (36), Illinois, USA

Nice dark amber color, with roasted malt flavor. Only knock is the alcohol taste as it warms. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2007 12 oz from discount liquors in Milwaukee. Orange amber with average white head. Doughy aroma, kind of hot, a lot sweet malt, some wheat. Wheat flavor, sweet malt, alc, dough, fruity, not bad. Lite body but pretty hot. Not a bad overall, but that alc is too strong. biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Pours an X-large tan head that really lasts, sticky, abundent lacing. Seriously hazy, orange hued brew. Nose is banannas, yeast, flowery, just a pleasent fruity aroma. Body is lightly medium, lightly oily on the palate with a good carbonation level, lightly prickly. Fruity bananna flavors first, some lightly sweet caramel maltiness, light toasted grainy wheat notes, light citrus notes, bready. Finish is sorta sweet and fruity. A well done Dunkelweizen! Props to OhioDad for the bottle! mnicole (15), asheville, North Carolina, USA
