Commercial Description:
Copper Kettle Weiss is designed in the traditional style of a dark wheat beer. Rich malt flavors are accentuated through our complicated decoction mash and finally balanced with select Hallertau hops.

Thanks to Joebrew or JK for sharing. Hazy orange beer with a quickly fading head. Excellent wheat aroma and flavor with a faint sourness.

12oz. Bottle $7.59 6-Pack Steve’s Liquor Madison Copper Kettle Weiss poured into my weizen glass and immediately filled half the glass with a firm off white head. The body is the color of brightly polished copper although slightly hazy which it should be. Glassful of carbonation bubbles rise to that mammoth head. Head leaves meringue like lacing down the glass that eventually rejoins the body.. Aromas of mild banana and slightly stronger clove rise immediately to my nose. A solid wheat twang comes through as the canvas. Yeast spiciness and a mild metallic aroma come through as well. Flavor has the same elements as the aroma, some more subdued and some bolder. More banana than clove in the flavor which differs from the aroma. The solid wheat twang is there but accompanied by a doughy malt characteristic. Finishes with a pleasant spiciness from the yeast. Medium smooth body, especially considering the higher than average carbonation. Tickles the tongue on the finish. Easy sipper with an excellent and pleasurable combonation of flavors. This is a good solid dunkel that I could enjoy one after the other. Another winner from New Glarus. Every New Glarus offering I’ve sampled has been from good quality to outstanding. 5/1/07

Bottle courtesy of Demcorhip: Poured a cloudy brown color ale with a nice big thick foamy head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma dominated by malt with lots of banana and some caramel malt characteristics. Taste is very malty with some great banana and some light ester notes. Body was full and definitely above average for the style with great carbonation. Great take on a style that I don’t have the chance to experience that often.

Fiery, hazy orange body, medium off-white head. Aroma of banana and clove, brown sugar, and breads. Light, bready body, with warming alcohol notes and white grape. Modest esters, with notes of banana (bordering on circus peanut), cloves, and light fruit. Spritzy carbonation. Another winner from New Glarus.

Cloudy golden/orange color.Large white head that had a good hang time then faded slowly to leave a nice lace behind. The aroma was bannana and spicey with a bit of a toffeeish side. The flavor was very nice, nice wheaty side, good showing from the spice and fruit with a decent citrusy side. The brew finishes up nicely with a good smooth feel all around......Very nice brew and well worth getting some more.

A hazy golden weiss with a thin white head. A strong banana aroma with fruity esters, and ginger. In mouth, a decent banana and cream, but rather short and lifeless, in the end. Tasted at "Montréal YeHA! Party 2006" . Dec. 16 2006.

Very sweet! But with flavors ranging from caramel to banana to candy to bread. Little bit of everything. Good spiciness that comes through in the end, accompanied by crisp mouthfeel.

Bottle: Dark straw, dirty, quite hazy, strong carbonation, large frothy white head, dies somewhat quickly, spotty lacing.   Wow, authentic nose of wheat, slight banana and clove.   Really wheaty on the tongue, banana and clove lending themselves well here.   This is better than many German examples I have had!   Spritzy mouthfeel, with wheaty flavor that just lingers.   This is probably one of the better Dunkelweizens I have had, period.   Big body, mouthfeel thats a little more bubbley than I expected but still quite nice.   Long finish... this stuff is just too damn good!   Lets just say I would prefer this out of any other examples I have had so far.   Thanks Facto for this kick ass bottle!
