Commercial Description:
If you dream of wheat this brew will get your toes tapping. Since 1995 we have brewed Bavarian style wheat beers exclusively for the same great state that grows and malts our own Wisconsin wheat. In a world full of posers this is a true hefe-weizen naturally 100% bottle fermented and hazy.

Expect this beer to cascade effervescent into your glass. The rich spicy clove and cinnamon notes will greet your nose while sweet fruit and wheat kisses your lips.

Lick the foam from your mouth and admit sometimes you just gotta get up and dance.

Cloudy straw color with a thin white head. Aroma of spice and sweetness really stands out. Flavor has notes of clove and honey. Slightly sweet. Nice flavor, one of the better I have had of the style.

On tap last summer at Great Taste and in 12 oz bottle the of the summer. They ran out at Great Taste in the first 2hrs. Classic orange-yellow haze with huge crown. Aroma has spicy notes of clove and lemon foretelling what awaits. Taste includes strong banana, wheat and yeast flavors mingled together with a powerful citrus effervescence to balance. Remarkably complex. The best beer I sampled at the Great Taste 07. And frankly, the best hefeweizen I have ever tried (even vs. German). Keep up the great work, New Glarus!

12 oz Bottle. Great pink peppercorn and clove oil nose. Fermented banana. Soft and with minerals. Pours a hazed peach flesh color, with a high foam in off-white, fading slowly. Flavor is soft and rich. Pear through a myriad of savory young herbs. Fresh and sinuous. Evaporative. Explodes in the mouth with carbonation, leaving behind wisps of candied orange peel. The yeast plays cool. It doesn’t dominate the profile, but compliments the lightly chewy and full-bodied wheat character. Great balance. Refreshing. This would be out of sight on a warm late spring afternoon. Thanks Brad!

On tap last summer at Great Taste: Springy and light wheat beer. Some spice, but too thin too notice. Refreshing.

12 oz bottle. It’s a shame this is only a seasonal brew, because I’d be fond of it year-round. Pours like any other Hefe, cloudy and rich. The aroma is inviting, but pales in comparison with the flavor. This is, without a doubt, the best tasting Hefeweizen I’ve ever had. It’s like drinking down a perfect banana bread, seasoned with cinnamon and cloves. Garnishing this beer with anything would be a waste. There’s not a hint of the high alcohol concentration in the flavor, but you feel it fast.

12 oz. bottle from mreusch. Pour is slightly hazy orange-yellow with a big, fluffy white head that is quite firm and lasting. Aroma of fruity bubble gum and banana. Taste is spot on Hefe, malty, wheaty, nice clean palate, very crisp and refreshing. Nice soft (and audible) carbonation to clean the palate. The sweet banana fruit and bubble gum come through in the taste as well. Really no sign of the 7.2% ABV in this one. This was a great beer with Stroganoff. Thanks for giving me this one Matt! Another great one from New Glarus.

Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Nose of banana yeast ester. Crisp and refreshing on the palate, the spice and banana flavor hang in there for the long ride. Dry wheat flavors and a slight tangy finish feed off the clove spice in the finish.

Pours a cloudy orangey yellow color with a a moderate white head that’s frothy at first but dissipates quickly. Smells of grains and booze. Tastes like a hefe. Good, malty, grainy. No sign in the taste of the alcolhol that I smelled on this brew. Palate is just, eh. Needs more carbonation for me. Coats the mouth a bit. Good beer, won’t go out of my way to get it though.
