Unfortunately, I think this sample is a bit old, as the head disappeared rather quickly. There was very little of the traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen flavor or aroma. The beer still tasted very good, but it clearly has seen better days. Until I saw this listing, I had no idea it was 7.2% abv, which is an absolute shock because you cannot tell, Headbanger (1595), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Sample at RSRIZZO’s tasting 8/9/09-Poured a yellow hazy with a small white head. Aroma of banana, cspices, and coriander. Taste the same with some more spices and cloves. This medium bodied brew is a top notch Hefe and hides the ABV very well. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 9, 2009 12 ounce bottle- pours a hazy dark straw. One finger thick creamy white head with bubbly lacing. Nose- lemon, clove, bubblegum. Taste- has the classic hefe taste, but toned down so that there is a wheat zing to the flavour profile. Really adds to the refreshing nature rather than an overly sweet hefe. The body is spot on with appropriate high carbonation. Finish- dries out with a grainy aftertaste. Great stuff.
