Commercial Description:
If you dream of wheat this brew will get your toes tapping. Since 1995 we have brewed Bavarian style wheat beers exclusively for the same great state that grows and malts our own Wisconsin wheat. In a world full of posers this is a true hefe-weizen naturally 100% bottle fermented and hazy.

Expect this beer to cascade effervescent into your glass. The rich spicy clove and cinnamon notes will greet your nose while sweet fruit and wheat kisses your lips.

Lick the foam from your mouth and admit sometimes you just gotta get up and dance.

Bottle Unfortunately, I think this sample is a bit old, as the head disappeared rather quickly. There was very little of the traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen flavor or aroma. The beer still tasted very good, but it clearly has seen better days. Until I saw this listing, I had no idea it was 7.2% abv, which is an absolute shock because you cannot tell,

12 oz. bottle courtesy of skyview. Pours a cloudy and golden orange in color with lively carbonation that creates a large, foamy off-white head that has decent retention. The aroma (which I happen to like very much) is banana, clove, wheat with moderate caramel richness, and bubblegum. The flavor is fruity with some bubblegum, along with some malty wheat, banana, clove, and a lingering rich and spicy finish. I was a bit surprised to see a Hefe at 7.2%, but there is no hint of the alcohol. This beer also has a bit more body than expected, which is in a little contrast to how soft and mellow each sip turns out to be. I have enjoyed almost each and every one of the New Glarus beers I’ve tried, but this has to be close to the top of the list. I wish this were closer and six packs were readily available.

Pours hazy orange with a big foamy white head. Aroma is yeast and hop spice and wheat. Taste is orange rind, wheat, peach, apple, and spices. Feels medium thin, but is very juicy, almost acidic.

Like a lot of New Glarus brews this has a nose and taste of bananas. And that’s getting tiresome to tell you the truth. Cloudy pour with white Styrofoam head. Orange peel and banana taste with a bit of an alcohol burn. Pass!

I confess, I love this beer. 12 oz bottle. Pours a tall, fine head which dissipates quickly. Beautiful yellow-orange color and a fragrant bananas and sweet tropical fruit nose. The wheat and yeast flavors mid-palate with a lively carbonation pass to a spicy cloves with lingering banana finish. I confess that I bought three six packs of this beauty and drank all but two bottles before I got around to rating it. It’s a long way to drive to Wisconsin for a beer, but I do it often for this one.

Served from a 12oz bottle given to my by my new brother-in-law. Thanks Jason. The appearance is a hazy straw/gold. The aromas are sweet wheat with clove and cinnamon accents. The flavors are full of creamy wheat, malts, cinnamon stick, pepper notes. The mouth is creamy with a slight bitterness.
