Commercial Description:
This “Nobel-Pilsner” is the creation of our brewmaster. He brought special yeast from Bavaria, combined it with Wisconsin barley and the finest Bavarian and American hops. Then employing traditional brewing methods, this Pilsner is finished with a long cold rest in our cellars. Expect this bier to be creamy and full-bodied with a smooth finish.

A decent enough Pils, golden bodied with a bubbly white head. The aroma is light, fresh cookie dough blanketed by an earthy, herbal hop scent. It a bit creamy for style, not enough "spritz" in the mouth. The flavor is sweet and grassy, malt with some light hop bitterness. The hops have more of a presence in the finish, but are a bit overbalanced by the malty sweetness one last time.

Pours a bright straw color with a medium cap of fine white head. Subdued minty, herbal hop aroma, with mild fruitiness and warm malt. Palate is fairly full and a bit more chewy than I expect from a pils. Substantial bitterness and grainy sweet malt with a fair amount of the bitterness lingering into the finish. A pretty good pils, but the hop aroma seems a bit subdued, and it feels a bit flabby overall.

Pours a med. gold with a white fizzy head. Aroma of husks with straw and grassy hops and a cookie malt sweetness. Flavor is crisp with an underlying sweetness from Munich. Body is med. light. Finish is firm and clean with light bitterness. Ferment is a little overly clean for a pils.

Thanks to WaWood for sending this lovely Pils my way.

Poured with a glowing copper body and white cap of head. The aroma is sweet, a bit syrupy, hint of honey and oats. The flavor is mildly hoppy mostly backed by caramel and other golden grains. The palate is light yet buttery…. A marvelous brew for the mid summer sessions.

Pours a golden color with light bubbly head. Aroma is of light grass, floral hops, and sweet bread. Taste is much the same with a perfect balance of floral and grassy hops. Not overtly malty like some pilsners, this is perfect. Lights and refreshing. My first pilsner that tasted like a pilsner should. Perfect balance of malt and hops. A good session beer.

Aroma was of cereal, barley, floral/herbal hops, slight bubble gum, and slight cola. Appearance was a large creamy white head with fair lacing that was mostly diminishing. The body was clear and amber. The flavor was lightly sweet with a moderate bitterness from the hops. The palate was full and creamy. Soft carbonation with a metallic finish. Kinda like sticking a spoon in my mouth. Pretty decent.

Pours a typical pilsner amber but slightly darker. First thought is how surprising it is to come across a microbrew with such artistic labeling yet such a cheap macro smell! Anyway, this Edel-Pils has a distinct flavor with dry maltiness at the base -- perhaps partly due to subliminalized hops, as typical hops flavors aren’t present until late in the sip. A slight touch of the rancid odor carries to the flavor as well. There are also vague elements of aniseed and margarine. Full, rich mouthfeel to this beer, then a watery but smooth finish. One hypothesis is that New Glarus might be true to style, but in its raw historical form pilsener is perhaps not that appealing to begin with, so most brewers more or less have modified the original recipe.

Aroma of a macro lager, but color is a deep gold, bolder and brighter than macro colors. Taste is of nicely toasted malt, springy hops that hit for only a second, with some honey and light licorice. An odd, sulfur note in the end, but overall a very refreshing pils.
