Grassy hops flavor, slightly tart, with biscuit and hints of toast. Another session beer from New Glarus, but this doesn’t terribly impress me as a pilsener despite the very high overall style rating. Thanks Matt (MrFacto) for the bottle! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2005 Bottle Pours a clear golden amber with a lively fluffy brief white head. Light grain and bread aromas with honey. Flavors are subtle and soft. Malty and bready. Pilsner-ish. What can I say. Tasty though with a fair lively carbonation and a clean soft finish. Thanks again MrFacto Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2004 Golden body with not too much of a head. Large bubbles drift up from the bottom. Biscuit-sweet aroma with yeast and caramel notes. The flavor has light molasses and bread yeast. I can’t detect any real hop presence. A malty pils, not terribly interesting. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Color:clear, bright straw-gold. Head: stocky, strudy, milky white. Aroma: exactly what we desire from a proper pils, fresh, clean, and pretty, honeyish, floral.
Texture is excellent and tasty. Hops are lively, but not too. Malt is solid, and sweet. Body is light, but taste is terrific, and keeps returning, sip after sip. A thorough pleasure to drink.
I’d had enough bland beers just before my encounter with this one to confirm: this is when I like a lager!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2004 Another very well-crafted brew from New Glarus. I’m not typically a pils guy, but this is soft, juicy, and pleasantly hoppy. Great medium-full body. Very quaffable. jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 31, 2004 Pours a slight white head over a golden beer. Nice nose of grain and hay. Light on the palate but obvious body over most pilsners. Tastes of malt throughout - pure barley. Not a huge amount of hops, but true to the German pils style. Perfect balance. Excellent beer. civforprez (225), Galesburg, Illinois, USA
