Commercial Description:
100% Wisconsin malt of six different varieties impart the natural toasted color to the bottle conditioned unfiltered ale. Clean hazelnut notes result from these carefully chosen barley malts. Hops from Slovenia, Bavaria and the Pacific Northwest give Fat Squirrel its backbone.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells nutty with lots of chocolate and some earthiness. Tastes Chocolatey with some nutty undertones. More of a pale porter than a brown ale.

Nice gold/amber pour. Nice 2 finger head, dissapates into a very thin lace. Initial taste of copper is there and gone in a second. Gives way to chocolate covered cashews, slightly dry finish. good beer but not a session beverage.

Pours bright amber into my glass with lively carbonation and a nice fluffy white head. Smells of caramel, a bit nutty, and kind of like old pennies. Tastes a little fruity and nutty, with a dash of burnt sugar in the finish. It’s okay but I wouldn’t go out of my way to try it.

Monster head in the pour. Not really a fan of the brown ales but it was in the sampler. Very nutty with a semi harsh choco maltiness. "OK"

Pours from the bottle very red/orange in color with very small head. Has a very nutty aroma mixed with a sweet malty scent. Flavor was a solid in the malt flavor and finishes with a bit of roasted nut flavor. Overall a good beer for winter months.

It is prretty thin on aroma but I think it makes up for it over all. Nice deep hue, a good head that gets caught in my mustache pretty well.

Pours orange, similar in appearance to New Glarus’ Staghorn. Sweet molasses and hazelnut really take the center stage in the flavor department. I enjoy these in the fall while camping. Pretty decent.
