Commercial Description:
100% Wisconsin malt of six different varieties impart the natural toasted color to the bottle conditioned unfiltered ale. Clean hazelnut notes result from these carefully chosen barley malts. Hops from Slovenia, Bavaria and the Pacific Northwest give Fat Squirrel its backbone.

Poured a rich amber hue with very little head or lacing and a fruity cherrylike aroma. Light bodied, malty with light bitterness, caramely. Clean short finish. Not as good as I thought it would be, no bottling info that I could see.

12 oz bottle via trade with 1FastSTi. Clear copper pour, thin white head fleeting in duration. Aroma is of mild maltiness with an odd apple? smell. Pretty boring flavor, though nicely balanced. Palate is thin and lacking in depth. Overall a somewhat boring beer in a very boring style category. I will say that there was some oxidation in the finish, so possibly not the freshest sample?

Dark copper with a thin, slightly off-white head. Same theme is carried into the flavor, which is also complemented with a very light sour fruit note. Medium body and nice bubbly palate. A simple beer done quite well.

12oz. bottle. Malty aroma, redolent of toasted whole grain bread and mild, milky coffee with suggestions of hazelnut, light brown sugar and perhaps some faint maple. Light-medium copper-brown in color, very clear for being bottle conditioned, and with a slight, fine off-white head. Flavor is moderately sweet up front, some faint honey and caramel, becoming roastier in the middle, plenty of nuttiness to be found and by the finish some lightly bitter, lightly spicy hop flavors and cocoa are made apparent. Very gently earthy and smoky late. Smooth and somewhat thin on the palate with a medium body. Certainly very quaffable. Obtained via a Madison connection.

Bottle from Vinny’s bar at La Crosse airport. Dark brown color with a medium thin beige head. Thin sheets of lacing. Aroma of malt and walnuts. Medium body with a roasty character, lots of nutty and malty flavoring. The finish is clean and sweet with more malt and nut flavors. I like it!

KC Bier Meisters afterhours party. Red with bronze tints. Light roasty aroma with milk notes and cappuccino. Taste is roast and malty with some finishing hops. Nice balanced finish.

Poured a medium and see through brownish/amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and toasted malts. Tastes of toffee, caramel, nuts and toasted malts. Had a light citric quality to it as well. Lively body.
