Commercial Description:
100% Wisconsin malt of six different varieties impart the natural toasted color to the bottle conditioned unfiltered ale. Clean hazelnut notes result from these carefully chosen barley malts. Hops from Slovenia, Bavaria and the Pacific Northwest give Fat Squirrel its backbone.

Served from a 12oz bottle given to my by my new brother-in-law. Thanks Jason. The appearance is a hazy apple cider drown with no head. The aromas are sweet with malt characters, apple cider, hazelnut. The flavors follow a bit with apple, hazelnut, toasted malts. A decent brown ale.

Bottle from biggcb. Pours a brownish-copper color with a nice initial foam head that dies down to an ultra thin layer. A little grass and hay in the aroma mixes with caramel and toasted almond. The flavor is a bit basic but overall pretty solid tasting. Nutty and toasty with the aforementioned almond, hazelnut, caramel, some toffee and subtle citrusy hops. This isn’t exciting but there’s also nothing bad at all about it and it drinks easy. Thanks Chris.

Bottle thanks to brian23456 (BA)!
Effervescent light mahogany, thin white film for a head. Odd nose that incorporates grain, earth, bark, and light tea. The flavor is similar but with significant grain and light caramel, also some similar tea. Full body contrast with the fizzy carbonation and lighter flavor profile. A pretty mediocre example of consistency.

Very easy drinking, good-looking Amber/Brown Ale. Pours a nice reddish-amber with just a bit of haze from the bottle conditioning and a finger of bright white head. Great malty aroma and a matching flavor, with a bit of toasted nuts and hoppy bite in the flavor. Smooth and tasty, nice straightforward brew.

Pours a dark amber with a very tightly bubbled white head. Nutty and roasted aroma, with some sweet malt to boot. Sweet flavor similar to the aroma, but with the addition of spicy and grassy hops. Nice clean finish, very refreshing. medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Chestnut brown, soft medium haze, small creamy off white head. Faint nutty aroma. Creamy body, full almond and hazelnut flavor, lightly scrubbed in the finish with earthy hops.
