Commercial Description:
Embrace a classic! Hometown Blonde is an old world style pilsner, assertively hopped with four premium hop varieties. Tettninger, Saaz, Styrian Golding and Strisselspalt varieties all grace this German-style brew with the complex character you enjoy in a classic pilsner. Expect to pour an elegant blonde glass of beer, crowned with a rich head of foam that resonates with our chorus of hops. Although delicate in appearance, our Hometown Blonde has a backbone, but of course that’s no surprise in Wisconsin. Enjoy!

Bottle from Iowaherkeye. Spicy and biscuity aroma, with a rich, toasty flavor that is dry and brisk. Body and carbonation are absolutely perfect, and this beer is monumentally drinkable. Well done!

Golden straw color, medium dense, lasting head. Beautiful! Assertive herbal hop aromas. Juicy malts, nicely balanced. I’m not a pils fan, but this stuff is really good. Not as Saaz heavy as other hoppy pilseners.

Poured yellow with small white head. Aroma of light hops and citrus. Nothing really to taste. Very watery with hints of hops and citrus.

Pours a clear golden with a smallish white head. Aroma is grassy and grainy with a hint of lemon. Slightly sweet with more bitterness than I expected.

6/17/2007: New Glarus Hometown Blonde pours beautifully into my Warsteiner Pilsner glass. The beer has a clean, golden blonde color and a large, thick, and extremly pale yellow head. The head is lasting and leaves some dense, foamy lacing on the glass. There is also a generous amount of lively carbonation. The aroma is pale malt, slightly sweet, and has some lightly spicy and grassy hops. The flavor is crisp and clean with a welcoming bready maltiness followed by a good amount of spicy, grassy, floral, and lightly citrus hop bitterness. The body is medium which is probably a bit heavier than most traditional Pilsners, but it works really well with this beer providing a smooth, near creamy texture. Overall this is an impressive Pils that I could drink one after another all day long and enjoy from begining to end!

12 oz bottle from buckybeer. Thanks Mark!

Clear, likght copper color with a medium head. Quite a hoppy aroma with strong grains. Strong, toasted malt and raw grain flavor. Some unexpected citrus towards the finish. Very interesting.

Light, yellow color. Smell of yeast, some hops, roasted malt, citrus and bread. Taste of lemon, toasted malt, hops, minor alcohol, grass and sugar. Nice summer beer!
