Commercial Description:
Embrace a classic! Hometown Blonde is an old world style pilsner, assertively hopped with four premium hop varieties. Tettninger, Saaz, Styrian Golding and Strisselspalt varieties all grace this German-style brew with the complex character you enjoy in a classic pilsner. Expect to pour an elegant blonde glass of beer, crowned with a rich head of foam that resonates with our chorus of hops. Although delicate in appearance, our Hometown Blonde has a backbone, but of course that’s no surprise in Wisconsin. Enjoy!

Pours a medium golden with a decent sized white head. Aroma is crisp and refreshing. Light malts, corn, kwheat and light hops. Very clean smelling. Flavor has some real snap to it. The malts get a little bigger. The hops get a little more bitter. Very nice pilsner. Should be a nice summer drinker.

A decent pilsener, if for no other reason than it finishes clean. Very light and fresh tasting. One of my top lagers, I’d say, but definitely will never stand up to Dort Gold. Tasty, though...

Bottle. Pours a light golden color with a medium size white head. Aroma of hops and malt with a slight hint of lemon. Taste is very mellow and crisp. It has a bit of bitter grassy hop flavor but not overwhelming by any means. A good pilsner that finshes nicely and true to the style.

Chicago trip. Monday 21:20+. Thick white head on gold. Relatively quiet nose, some grassy notes. Hops and wet grain flavour with vegetable notes. Funky weird finish.

Transparent, magnifying and pristine copper in color with a thin, creamy white head being fed by a multitude of rising bubbles. Aroma certainly sets it apart. Clean, green lemon grass, citric zest, cleansing orange glow, mango saturated corn stalks and orange blossom honey kissing toasted grain. Flavor agrees one hundred percent. Clean, lemon baked sourdough innards sweetly and wholesomely spread throughout the palate. Charming effervescence keeps the clean theme but encompasses a fuller bodied, creamy persona, nearing the boundaries of discernable cotton freshened with interwoven fabric freshener sheets. Bitterness teams with a biting sourdough heel feel, with the buttery, citric, lemon husk and tart qualities pulling through for both the forefront and finish. The final sequences charm with clean, lemon like bitterness and an altruistic thirst-begging bready finish, everlasting and questing for more. Lovely beer and the best damn pilsener ever.

I’m not as big a fan of this beer as most, it appears. Clear straw body, thin off-white head. Aroma of bready malt, cerealy, with grassy hops. Grassy, herbal body, bitter, with light bready malt. Leafy. Medium-bodied with average complexity. Average and drinkable, but I didn’t find too much to get excited about.

12 oz bottle

I ran across this on a recent beer run. It must have just showed up on the shelves around Madison. This is a definite winner in the vein of the Edel Pils - drinkable and perfect for almost any occasion. I almost wish there was a way to try it side by side with the last New Glarus pilsener.

Aroma / Appearance - Bananas, Crystal Pepsi, granny smith apples and fresh cut hay comprise a very airy and light aroma. It pleases the senses without overwhelming. The pour resulted in a one finger head resting over the top of a copper body. Light filtered through forming an image of what a pilsener should look like; this puts the television ads to shame (not that it is difficult to come across as better than a BMC).

Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel is very full for a pils, washing the senses in light wheat and honeycomb. There is not much complexity to speak of but that is not to be expected. This is a beer you can share with others while watching fireworks on the 4th. I imagine it might even have taste if drunk directly from a bottle though that is an experiment I personally will not be trying. The only downside is that it won’t age long so when this one is gone it will be a long wait for its return.

Pours a clear golden color with a good sized white head that fades quickly. Slight lacing as the beer retracts in my glass. Aroma is of grass, light fruit and honey notes and some hop spiciness. Taste is grass, malt, light fruit, biscuit, and some light toasted grain. Perfectly carbonated with some slight dryness, this is a top notch pilsener.
