A frothy, cream colored head is large but quickly fleeting, leaving jagged bands of lacing on the glass. The aroma is heavy on toasted caramel malts, with plenty of cereal grains and notes of earthy, peppery hops. Hints of citrus blossoms poke through, but the hop feel is mostly faded and dusty. Flavors mirror the aromatic profile. Moderate floral and earthy bitterness gives way to the more assertive toasted caramel. Substantial body with balanced carbonation, finishing just slightly syrupy. This has a very British feel too it, overall. It’s good, but I much prefer American style IPAs. Jwasciuk (194), Lowell, Michigan, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2008 A rich amber brew with a frothy off-white head. Rich hop aroma much like grapefruit. Amazingly complex but not over-reaching in any specific area. Great hops IBU but not taste bud killing. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a rich caramel color with a small off white head that disappears rather fast. Aroma is muted and not as floral and intense as you might expect. It has hints of citrus hops but you need to seek them out a bit. The malt comes through in the end of the nose as well. Very crisp flavor. Mostly citrus with some bitterness in the mix. Then it gives way to the sweet malt backbone and then....done. no real aftertaste. it finishes nice and clean. Very balanced beer and nicely understated. Unlike a lot of IPAs that try to pound you to death with the hops, this beer focuses more on making a very drinkable IPA that does have some nuts. drfabulous (1283), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2008 Really nice balance. Unlike the California IPAs that hit you in the face with flora. Instead, well balanced and hoppy. Excellent. GAManiac (1203), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a small dense off-white head that dissipates quickly leaving a hint of lacing. The smell has a decent floral pine hop kick up front before giving way to the slight caramel sweetness of the malts. The taste has a little more citrus than the aroma in the beginning before giving way to the bready malts with a bit of caramel sweetness. There is a minimal hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and very creamy with less hoppy bitterness than most IPAs. This is a very subtle and low-key example of an American IPA but very well done. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Dense copper in color with light lacing. Aromas of citric hops and a fair amount of malt for an IPA. The flavors add some chocolate with a creamy midpalate that doesn’t show a lot of hops even on the finish.
