Apr 13, 2008 Pours a bit darker than most IPAs I’ve had. Good citrus / caramel flavor. Dry enough to really enjoy the unique hop flavors but still easy to drink a few.

Apr 12, 2008 Golden-amber, clear, with lasting head. Mild grapefruit and sweet citrus aroma. Grapefruit, citrus, and mild carmel malt balance. Balanced and smooth bitter finish.

Apr 11, 2008 Bottle: Medium amber with a haziness, smaller beige head. Lots of sticky lacing. Citrus filled aroma, light florals and bits of caramel. Flavor is hearty with florals and citrus hops, but a nice amount of malt to balance. Very smooth and easy drinking IPA. Thanks Pepsican.

Apr 9, 2008 Pour is dark clear golden with light tan head. Aroma is like a scottish ale. Flavor has a bit of hops along with a toffee aftertaste. Real tastey and smooth. Very well balanced. Would buy again.

Apr 4, 2008 Updated: Apr 5, 2008[Bottle] Pours clear reddish-amber with a decent beige head that quickly fades. The name is a bit deceptive, as I was surprised by how malt forward this was in the aroma. Taste is surprisingly the same with very low bitterness for an IPA. Pretty decent mouthfeel with an average length finish. A very drinkable beer, but there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of going on and it is extremely malt dominant.

Apr 4, 2008 Pours out amber with an off-white head. Really unusual aroma for an IPA named "Hop Hearty" since the malt really shows up here in the aroma. It’s not a bad smell, I get scents of honey nut cheerios, caramel, with just a really subtle hint of citrus hop in the background. Tastes pretty grainy with a lot of caramel, along with an almost toasty quality as well. The hops only show up in the finish, and it’s a very brief bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel, a decent IPA, but it tastes a lot more like a Vienna instead.

Mar 30, 2008 WTF is this. What are you all getting that I am not. I had my nose an inch from the head and still almost NO aroma. IMO, this is the "Bud" of IPAs. Goes down quick,clean and non offensive but NOTHING stands out.
