Aromas were of resinous hops and dark carmel malts. Taste was hoppy, but not too bitter with an excellant malt backing. Overall a nice complex IPA with good malting to balance the hops. Dark amber body with a fairly large head and good lacing. Aroma is spicy, fruity, grassy, flowery hops with a caramel background. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied. I liked it more as the bottle emptied. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Nicely balanced aroma of pine and grapefruit hops along with caramel malts. Flavor was also well balanced, but much more muted than the aroma. Pine, citrus and caramel malt are the dominant flavors. tranum (34), delafield, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Pours a clear med amber and thin lasting head. Aroma is piney, citrus, some tea, and light caramel malts. Flavor is a bit subdued compared to the intense hop profile in the aroma. Light caramel malts, moderate to light hop flavor, lgith metallic/pine and citrus, and a decent bitter finish. Nice solid IPA. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA

Nose of pungent, resinous, piney hops; leather; earth; lightly toasty malt. Balanced flavor with the malt gaining some caramel sweetness, toasted aftertaste. I’d like the hops to be more bold in the flavor. Medium body, balanced. Solid brew.
