This is a very hoppy beer with hints of citrus. My wife loves Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and she thought this was a bit too hoppy for her. I liked - a nice change from the Stouts/Porters I usually drink. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2004 An orangish brown appearance with a rather small head. The scent is floral and citrusy with oranges sticking out. The flavor is quite bitter with some orange peel and grass clippings. The malt backbone seems to be lacking making it slightly one dimensional. But Im ok with that being the hophead I am. The aftertaste is slightly sour. Thanks again MrFacto for sending this one. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2004 Dark red color with a thin head. Mild hop aroma. Oddly sour for an IPA. This lacks the "hooah" presence of hops one might expect. An odd IPA, but not too shabby. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2004 Bottle: Poured a light brown colored ale with a nice big head with better then average retention. You can easily feel the bitterness in the aroma. Taste is as expected, i.e. quite bitter with a side of roasted malt and subtle floral notes. I would put this one on a par with Victory Hop Devil as one of the great IPA out there. sloth (1686), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2004 Medium sized tan head, fair retention and lace. Clear, deep copper/ light amber hued brew. Large, fresh hop nose, pine, citrus and a touch minty. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Good hop flavor, piney, grassy with a lightly sweet maltiness, notes of roast and some crystal malt also, lightly grainy with more hops to back all that malt up. Finish is dry, would like a touch more bittering though. Thanks to mrfacto for the trade! SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Pours a deep amber with a thick creamy head of off white that sticks to the glass.
Delicate Cascades aroma.
The flavor is just to the bitter side, but not too far away is the malt to back that up. Good body and a nice bitter finish.
