Wow...the setting sun hits the becher revealing a rich, deep copper color...thick tan head leaves plenty of lace. Nice nose...a mix of earthy pepperiness and more dominate citrus notes playing on a background of carmelly malt...a resinous quality to the aroma as well. First impression: Where is the bitterness? Finish seems more malty sweet than bitter...this beer drinks like a mini version of the BW. Malty and bready with an undercurrent of hops. with just a touch of lingering resin. After the pour and aroma, I had visions of something a little more hoppy and intense. Maybe they just don’t grow them that way in WI. Still a pleasure to drink though.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2009 I drank this from the bottle into a chalice.
It pours a dark orange, darkest IPA I’ve ever seen. It has a finger size head that is gone quickly, bad retention and retention.
The aroma is light with bite of orange and lots of hops but nothing to strong.
The taste is also light, a little to much so to make it great. The start is very strong citrus which is nice but the hops are really hiddened, they are but not a ton to keep me coming back.
The mouthfeel is light but leaves an ok aftertaste. Its light tasting and hops are soft so it makes it decently drinkable. arkurzynski (97), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Pours deep amber with creamy head that lasts. Aroma is floral, but not as hoppy as I would expect. Good malt characteristics and decent hopping to match. A decent IPA, but as good as some I have tried. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA

Not overpowering. Medium texture with a pleasant palate experience. BigMilly8 (376), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2009 From bottle - Pours a hazy, carbonated amber color, with a half-finger frothy white head. A good deal of lacing around the glass. Aroma is somewhat faint, but when i can get it, it is very nice. Carmal, piney hops take charge. Taste is a good IPA taste, the hops are there with the caramel, but not overly bitter. Body is good, not overly thick, but not watery either. Nice finish, alcohol taste with the piney hops. Very nice brew. popery (173), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 17, 2009 It’s an amber liquid topped by a frothy off-white head. The smell is a bit underwhelming. There’s some nice sweetly caramel malt, just not enough hops to live up to it. The flavor is better and really quite good. The malt is strong. The hops are bitter and flavorful. It’s not quite as full as the top IPAs in the country but still very good. I really like the feel quite a bit. It’s sort of frothy, sudsier than most IPAs. It’s a very drinkable beer with a good balance, if not quite enough flavor to really push it over the top. drpimento (828), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 15, 2009 Very, very good beer. Poured with a ginormous frothy, foamy, huge, light tan head with loads of lace. Color is a clear nice deep coppery amber. Aroma is very hoppy and not too much citrus. A little earthy. Flavor’s similar with good carmamel to hoppy bitter. Body is ok, perhaps a tad watery, but with good carbonation. Good finish. Satisfying. Very slight alcohol at the last. Could be a session.
