Pours a slightly hazy deep(!) amber. No head - looks like a flat Coke. The aroma was all malt. The flavor was also all malt, with no hops. The palate was thin. Not having had too many Altbier examples, I don't really know if this fits the style, but it really is kind of plain for me...

Very unique, malty, molasses aroma. Dark red, off white head. Mostly disappating. Promising nose does not translate to the taste buds. Totally bland flavor with no bite. Very brief and mellow hop profile, but not enough to keep the interest. Disappointing.

Very dark pour. Roasted, smoked bacon aroma. Slightly sour middle with a light, crisp finish. I have found altbiers to be unique and interesting and this is no exception. A nice bier.

smells like smoke, taste like grapfruit; just like cracker jacks, a surprise in every box.

Dark beer with a thin, brown fringe in the glass. Nose of Liva-snaps with something close to rubber. For all that, the first taste was surprisingly light and sweet. I got citrus, melon and celery. Very little in the finish. Interesting beer.

Aroma was smoke, ash and earth, but the flavors that followed were very different. Fisrt few sips had a nice grapefruity hop and medium thick sweet malts. As time went on, the malts took over, but the body thinned. An interesting brew that kept me guessing til the end.

Black center with brown crown, no head or lace. Very earthy aroma, dirty and musty. Burnt malt, smokem and leather hints on nose. Taste is so different from aroma, hoppy and citrusy tones with a light sweet background. Acidic finish. Medium-bodied with a chewy and soft mouthfeel. Well, it's very unique, hard to define brew.

Too bland for me with its watery malt taste and no hint of hopping, but it does have a very nice thick mouthfeel.
